Building from a strong foundation rather than blowing it all in 1-2 seasons in elite 1 before going bust.Doesn't look like they plan to play Elite 1 any time soon?
Lyon Villeurbanne unfortunately went bust. They pulled out of Elite 2 in late 2021 with the intention of playing in the National League and haven't been seen since.there's been a club in Lyon for nearly 100 years!

Why did they not re-establish the original club then? I'm not expecting you to know, it's just a general statement.Lyon Villeurbanne unfortunately went bust. They pulled out of Elite 2 in late 2021 with the intention of playing in the National League and haven't been seen since.
Vaulx-en-Velin are still around though and they are based in Lyon.
The new club appears to be associated with the local Football club, as all the branding is from 1893 (which is the same year the football team was setup) and it uses the same colours of the soccer team. Why did they not re-establish the original club then?
