You should go buy a home in Cairns. You cannot afford one in Logan.you've never been to either.

Taking the game to new markets and generating new fanbases. If you go to already rusted on areas you are simply consolidating an existing market for your product. Can you name a detailed reason why the NRL should choose Perth ahead of PNG, NZ2 and Brisbane3?
I don't want to hear exaggerated claims that cannot be verified. I want solid data on why you think Perth will provide more value to the game than the other locations.
The 6pm Sun AEST timeslot is not a compelling reason that blows the other candidates away. Any club can host this game.
Perth's small player base and 8k FTA/5K PTV television viewers are a liability. The club will struggle to lure players away from Queensland, NSW and NZ. Broadcasters won't pay much for a team in a market that has such a small audience.
The lack of pokies will not provide a Perth-based club with any security.
So what does a Perth-based team have to offer?
The Feds aren't funding a team that will play games in mainland Australia.
And apparently HBF Park is such a rundown shit hole that having games of RL there makes people apoplectic.
But this facility is fine? Keep trolling boys

It your comparing it to good nrl stadiums it’s a below average to a dumpView attachment 82529
some NRl games are played at very low quality stadia yet some divvy people have a problem with this lol
At least we only spent $90mill doing this, Sydneys about to spend $300mill producing not much better than this for Penrith lol
Im not, its nowhere near commbank or the new stadiums. But nor is it the worse, by a long shot, of current NRL stadiums in use. To say it isnt fit for NRL is laughable when you see what some Sydney teams, and Dolphins PT, play out of.It your comparing it to good nrl stadiums it’s a below average to a dump
if your comparing it to suburban grounds it’s a bit better
the fact a cbd is on par with places like the gong is a bad result
Newcastle is better
even Canberra is better

Canberra isnt better. HBF trumps Canberra for location, covered seating, pitch of seating, and atmosphere. I did like the walkway at Canberra though, at least I could stand there and keep moving so as not to freeze lol
Never said it wasnt. Id sit it in the middle,It’s not the worst stadium and it is fit for nrl
it’s still an average stadium
And if you’re being honest it needs a lot of money spent on it to be what we all. Want it to be and for the cost of that it’s better to do a new buildNever said it wasnt. Id sit it in the middle,
better than Kogorah, Penrith, Win, LO, Campbelltown, Canberra, Kayo, Brookvale, shark park,
possibly mount smart (havent been so cant say)
and personally I prefer watching club games there than at Accor.
Not quite as good as Newcastle
Nowhere near as good as suncorp, allianz, AAMi, Commbank, NQ, GC
so in ranking sits somewhere around 8/9th of 18 regular use NRL stadiums
No arguments form me, it was a rushed short sighted decision to buy HBF park lease and start renovating it. Force where driving it to get out of Subi oval, along with the carrot of an NRL team being dangled for 2015 admission. And if you’re being honest it needs a lot of money spent on it to be what we all. I think they’ll get the green light next year tbhNo arguments form me, it was a rushed short sighted decision to buy HBF park lease and start renovating it. Force where driving it to get out of Subi oval, along with the carrot of an NRL team being dangled for 2015 admission.
They should have held off and included it in the Optus stadium Burswood plans. Having committed $155mill so far though I cant see the WA govt just walking away from it.
West corporate stand is priority (23k capacity)
Then adding the extra seats and roof to south stand that its designed for (25k capacity)
Then finally sort out the North shed end (28k capacity)
That'd do it! Location wise its in a good spot, arguably better than Optus. So its worth doing it up and keeping where is.
None of that will happen though till it has a tenant that can justify it, come on down NRL!
mongoose is more concerned about not being teased by his fumbleball supporting colleagues than he is about rugby league.Mongoose was having a go at me for talking badly about super league
turns out he’s never visited any super league clubs whilst I have

Of the new markets out there Perth offers the most opportunity in Australia with the least risk, if the business case and WA govt backing is there.
The biggest challenge for Perth wont be fans or corporates it will be in attracting talent and building a consistently competitive team. If I was NRL that would be a key thing Id want to see the strategy for from any business case.
PNG and NZ2 both offer exciting opportunities but come with some very significant challenges. Not to mention, seeing as you brought it up, do you think Australian TV, which pays 94% of the tv deal will value two overseas clubs that add nothing to their advertising or subscription base? Perth might not add much but it adds more than either of those 2 to Australian tv.
PNG long term viability and just practibility is very questionable, and lets be honest if the Albo offer wasnt so big then the NRl wouldnt even consider it. That should tell us something about its long term issues
NZ2 (Christchurch) has great new player potential but its a small city rusted on rugby union. And the biggest issue at the moment is it has no significant bid backing. Whilst the local league is trying to make something happen is admirable asking on facebook for backers, or talking about chain funding, doesnt engender confidence does it?
Perth offers -
perfect 12 games in a 6pm AEST sunday spot (whilst any club can host it only perth will actually benefit from it, making it attractive to the other clubs not to play in it if they can help it, plus a day game for TV which most agree tends to lead to better quality games)
Strongest Australian player development, despite the neglect, outside of the game's heartlands, and a history of bigger participation
A metro market of 2.2million people and growing
A supportive Govt (whatever that looks like)
Millionaire backers (whatever that looks like)
A strong foundational (cashed up) fanbase from day1
so there's the case for.
I think they’ll get the green light next year tbh
pvl doesn’t muck around
Once png is sorted
the issue is so they sell Perth as part of the next tv deal with png but with staggered entries
You dont need to know, only the commission needs to know.Who are these millionaire backers who'll keep club up & running during losing seasons?!
If you can give me any quote from a tv exec saying they don't want perth then Illl agree. Until then your taking answers to questions about who they do want, ie SEQ as some bizarre indication of who they dont want. Id say they are probably quite neutral about Perth in all likelihood. Has some benefits and potential but not an easy win.Tv doesn't want perth
