3,500 players in Perth total isn't 3,500 that are suitable for NRL. I'd take those in A Grade out, you need the number for those 12-18 years old

Then you take the top 10% of that into the elite programs. Then you have maybe 1% that becomes NRL standard.

Then you need that to constantly happen.

Except every clubs has moved into areas outside their catchment as well.

Roosters have added 28 clubs in Central Coast. Have the Fiji Jersey Flegg team feeding into their player pool

Penrith despite being the Biggest. Have 108 teams in Western NSW.

Storm have added the Bears system to theirs

And so on
yep, so perth just needs to find some partners and keep growing the game in the West. All clubs are looking for Jnr talent elsewhere, its mythical thinking to suggest Perth will somehow be unique in this.

Its almost like it hasnt worked the other way round in Qlnd lol Why are kids in Qlnd playing AFL instead of RL?

65k RL players vs 20-30k fumbleball players in Queensland. Many of those who play fumbleball in Queensland would be of Victorian descent. There's plenty of Victorians living in Queensland.

The best fumbleballers still come from Victoria. Michael Voss was born and raised in Victoria before moving to Logan.

So lets get this right, you think AFL can get 30k players in Qlnd, but Perth couldnt possibly get 10k players for RL again? You know lots of kids are choosing AFL over RL in Qlnd but you cant possibly see kids in WA choosing RL over AFL? Geez you really have a low opinion of RL dont you?

Townsville has a population of 178k. Melbourne has almost 6 million.

How many NRL players has Hull produced?

Super League players don't count because it's a minor league.
44 players, ever?
geez no wonder most of the team is made up of poached players!

How many NRl players has Hull produced? WTF? Get off the bong!

FMD you're a slow-witted bastard.

RL in Perth will be competing with RU for the shrinking pool of people who have the body shape and mentality to play our game.

Fumbleball has no real competitor scouting the sort of players they're after and is seen as a "safe" alternative to the rugby codes.

Answer the question.

NRL is the EPL of rugby league. The best players in the world compete in it.

The standard of Super League is lightyears behind the NRL. In 1999 the Burleigh Bears defeated the Great Britain Lions.

ah so now its not afl but union they will be choosing? So you have a lower opinion of RL appeal than AFL and Union.
haha youre on form today.

wtf has that got to do with NRL expansion? and why the f**k would Sl clubs be responsible or interested in producing NRl players? You are way off the reservation today lol

There's 12k RU players in WA. RL has just 4.1k players in the market. Pointing out these facts doesn't mean I have a low opinion of RL. It just means I'm dealing with reality and not being an ignorant code warrior. Part of the reason RU are in a mess in this country is because they arrogantly overestimated their worth and underestimated RL.

I never said Super League clubs are responsible for producing NRL players.

I asked you how many rugby league players who were born in the City of Hull have made it in the NRL?

It's a fair and relevant question as Hull is a small city like Townsville.

If you think Townsville is a failure because it has produced 44 NRL players in a city that has 180k people then Hull must have produced at least 80 NRL players, right?

Hull has 260-280k people. Anything less would mean it's failing to produce quality players.

The fact you're trying to dodge the question by creating a strawman says all I need to know.

Of course all clubs are, most clubs have another source in driving distance or have a big enough base in the case of Warriors and Cowboys.

That is why I asked the school question, You get access to players you wouldn't normally do.

It also is somewhere to for example partner with Fiji and bring kids over to finish school here, hopefully they find a local girl or guy and stay local.

That flows on to strengthening the local comp when they guys finish their season which brings other guys along

That is what all the potential locations need, Perth could have all the money in the world but run last due to Players.

The instant NRL announces Perth, AFL will do Perth 3 as team 20. It is what they do.

The huge advantage RL has is no draft. A 14 year old knows he can stay local for his whole career. As opposed to going who knows where... just need to get some sort of junior s
