Billion. With a B.So what you're saying is you have 13 million dollars to spend?

Agree. But spot on the previous decade however. This joke doesn't really hit the mark this year.
We have lost JWH, Keary, Manu, Sualli, Sitilli and May from last year. B Smith is gone for next season and looks like Young too.
We have signed Chad Townsend and Reece Robson in that time.
It's top dollar for someone of his abilities.I'm not sure young is on top dollar... $500k... Is that top dollar for a winger?
Speaking of... the Chooks definitely looking for a bail-out to fund DCE, dunno if I'd give it to them but it looks like we are.
We're not winning anything this year so let I'd have preferred we let Smith get fit under the Roosters dime and then once he has some form he can come over for 2026.
Alas.
Thank you for quoting my post quoting Buzz Rothfield with a tweet quoting Buzz Rothfield.
We don't need anyone's help to fund DCE if indeed they choose to sign him. That's just the media making shit up.

It does make a difference if it means you use that money to front-load a few other guys (Whyte, etc) so you don't have to increase their salaries as much for 2026-27. You'd have the cap room for it this year too I would think for that sort of thing. We don't need anyone's help to fund DCE if indeed they choose to sign him. That's just the media making shit up.
And Smith going early makes absolutely no difference anyways given he is off the books for next season already which is when DCE would arrive.
Wow Easts are really clearing the decks

Regarding the salary cap in terms of pure ins-and-outs is way too basic.
My point anyway was "why should we help out the Roosters?", because if the shoe was on the other foot you'd (rightly) tell us to f** off.
Odd timing with the Dave Fifita stuff tooWow Easts are really clearing the decks
one of the kids will end up in perth playing for bears in 2027. wont be walker, probably not sandon either. likely savala who will be surplus.Roosters recruiting the past few years have been odd, like the ADHD implusive kid who just buys the first shiny toy they see without any thought behind why they want it
I hope they sign DCE and one of their young halves cracks it and pisses off and starts winning elsewhere
Anybody needing a half should be offering both of them deals when it’s allowed (dunno their contract lengths)one of the kids will end up in perth playing for bears in 2027. wont be walker, probably not sandon either. likely savala who will be surplus.

You were spot on about them clearing the decks for dce
You are correct but maybe year two ?"Tip in"?! Considering players are paid progressively over the course of the year, I suspect that about what they would have paid him up until he goes. Bit of a long bow there.
