So apparently in the Sunday Telecrap there was an article about Will Kennedy.

He’s on about 500 to 600k the article suggests.

Sharks have 300k left in the cap for next year so are currently unable to make him an offer. Unless they move someone else on.

Interesting.

Oh, and if that is the case we're in trouble.
According to Zero Tackle we have 7 spots left to fill.

I think we’ll tap a couple of guys on the shoulder at seasons end. One or both of the players you mentioned might be asked to find another Club.

With what we have in fullback options at the moment I can’t see the Sharks not trying to do something to retain him.

Mooney is one of the best at building rosters in the league. He knows what he is doing. I wouldn't believe that 300k for a second.

Hasta la vista Tobes and BHU.
I'd be nervous if I was the as yet unsigned Stonestreet.

I don't think he's done enough yet to be making TTF nervous so I think decision time there is a while off. The Sharks will let SK come back and see how he comes back from having his wing re attached.

Nor do I. It's balderdash. Why people react to these bullshit fishing expeditions amazes me. People create their own angst and anxiety.

I agree usually, but it’s Riccio that has reported it, and he’s usually spot on when it comes to the Sharks, and also has our backs in the main - and on that point, maybe Riccio is being used as a plant, put it out there that we need to shed a couple of players, so other clubs come sniffing for the likes of BHU (who I thought was strong yesterday btw) and Toby. Maybe we’re just playing the media game.

Don't care if it's Riccio, Buzz or Scoop McLean!

I'll say this. If Riccio posts this and it's fact I'd be questioning his loyalty to the Sharks. I smell an agenda.

He talked about it on the Monday Triple
M NRL podcast.

interestingly in that same podcast, Wade talked about Will being up there with the best fullbacks he’s ever played with in terms of being an organiser of defence. Granted, Wade is still involved and very much part of the kiss and cuddle each other and always be kind’ culture at the club, but still, high praise.

I think the money situation is bang on.

Our squad is a very mature squad now.

Everyone has been getting decent upgrades.

Go through the whole team and every player is on decent coin for their position.

I think we need to part ways with one or two players to resign the likes of Kennedy.

I think the Club last year was positioning the likes of Ison or Dykes for the change over at fullback. Kennedy last season was not necessarily convincing anyone that he rose to the occasion in the big games especially.

Now Kennedy is in career best form. Like most players when their contract is up.

But like mentioned above which opposition Club seriously needs a fullback?

I can see a lot of players (from all clubs) seeking contracts that expire at the end of the 2026 season.

The Perth Bears will need 30 players...

As for PNG - surely they will field a reserve grade side that will get the wooden spoon perpetually... The happiest people out there will be the Tigers fans.

Who in their right mind is seriously going to want to go live in a compound in PNG? They’ll have to pay 2 million a year for a player like Chad Townsend to even consider it
