The only recruit BA brought in for 2014 was David Gower who signed in November 2013.

After Brad Arthur agreed to terms in October 2013.

The rest were already purchased by Ricky before he walked out of the place

Manu Mau was playing for Wenty in 2013

Will Hopoate signed in October 2011

Corey Norman signed on 25th March, 2013 - https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2013/03/25/corey-norman-signs-with-the-parramatta-eels/

Lee Mossop & Gareth Hock signed on 23rd April, 2013 - https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2013/04/23/lee-mossop--gareth-hock-sign-with-the-parramatta-eels/

Nathan Peats signed on 23rd July, 2013 - https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2013/07/23/parramatta-eels-sign-nathan-peats/
Manu and Hoppa were Kearney recruits.

Yes other 4 were Ricky's recruits but 2 were terrible with one not even coming.

Interestingly, Gower and BA's other 2014 recruit Issac De Gois are still at the club...

I'll let in into a bit of a secret...

BA didn't give a rats about pathways, period...
It’s not the head coach’s job to give a shit about pathways. His job is coaching the NRL team. Pathways staff and players aren’t even part of the NRL team’s budget or salary cap.
and I never said his ability to identify players was shit during his whole tenure.
Are you suggesting he became bad at it? It’s extremely unlikely.

i think in the end this is why BA got the Arse

Mon and Jim definitely were going the development route and probably felt BA was a thorn in those plans.

when they hired ryles, they were very quick to point out his ability to develop young players

you're probably right, it may not be the coaches job, but the good ones actually gave a shit, not hard to work out which ones they were..

yep!! totally...his poor choices in recruitment post 22 proved it.

BA created a massive wedge bewteen our seniors and juniors...you ask anyone who worked at the club at the time and they'll tell you that.

those pathways players will be part of your nrl squad in the future.

for a nrl coach not to care about pathways and development is a huge blind spot imo

Brian Smith created and nurtured the pathways through the first JETS program, he attended just about every junior rep game and knew the names of players prior them actually hitting junior reps.

Sure some never developed but we had so many coming through it was a luxury . Won’t say what happened with coaches after him, but the JETS program has only been instituted recently and we are now seeing the fruits of that.

We could only dream of the sort of talent we were bringing through in the late 90s and 00s

Shame we never had the halves to guide them.
