let them move back
It certainly came from left field. The article reads to me like "we're moving, and here are the answers you want so you don't all bombard us with the same questions when it gets announced".Don't think they'd release this unless it was in the advanced stages, like pretty much set in stone. Guessing they're putting out this to do a temperature check with the fanbase.
Great news for the NRL in general and for Souths fans, I think it will be a much better atmosphere and experience for them. Another team in a high quality rectangular stadium. The more teams that are, the more the clubs that aren't, stand out and it puts pressure on the government/club to find a solution. See Andrew Barr.
Roosters in their last year at the old SFS in 2018 averaged 15,682 - Which I would regard as a better stadium than Accor is currently.Only have to look at not just how Roosters Crowds have increased by the variety of people attending the new ground has helped.
This is the kind of shit that will give the Bunnies Crowds a real boost.
Yeh those numbers are realisticRoosters in their last year at the old SFS in 2018 averaged 15,682 - Which I would regard as a better stadium than Accor is currently.
Which boosted straight up to 22,898 in their first full year at Allianz in 2023. 23,364 in 2024 and 24,680 so far in 2025.
By most metrics Souths are coming from a greater baseline of support. Could they average 25k in down years and 35k in up years?
Tigers will lose money by not taking games to Commbank, so maybe they sign a short term agreement to play 8 games at Campbelltown. Possibly by the end of the agreement Campbelltown gets an upgrade.
Tigers should've prioritized Campbelltown from a long time ago. A breakdown of home games like six at Campbelltown, three at Leichhardt and three at Commbank or Allianz. And go to the state government and say to them,
"we realise that you can't significantly upgrade every suburban ground, so we choose Campbelltown to be our main home, and for Leichhardt to have funding for female amenities and general safety".
Instead the Tigers tried to please everyone to their own detriment.
Roosters, Souths and the goodwill around the Bears return could help turn the tide in the Eastern and Northern Suburbs back to RLYeh those numbers are realistic
That would make two Sydney clubs over 30k, roosters and eels not too far behind
Manly dragons and tigers could get a good crowd bump taking home games v roosters or souths there
Get the feeling chooks are doing it anyway as Waratahs support has dropped offRoosters, Souths and the goodwill around the Bears return could help turn the tide in the Eastern and Northern Suburbs back to RL
I'm more talking about putting the fumblers back in their box. Roosters and Souths averaging 25k with big sold out events dotted throughout the season at AllianzGet the feeling chooks are doing it anyway as Waratahs support has dropped off
North shore is hard core union at junior level but open at pro level

Roosters v Rabbits x 2
Manly v Bears
Roosters v Dogs
Anzac Game
We all know from the Swans' pathetic TV ratings that they aren't the biggest supported club in Sydney but it's the perception. More sold out RL events at Allianz, more big Accor events and continued domination of the TV ratings will put all that to bed.
Yep agreed they have captured the yuppie inner city crowd well. But we all know they aren't the most supported club in Sydney. An extended stay at the bottom would show that clearly. The AFL with their rigged competition (varied grants and salary caps) won't allow that thoughAs much as I hate to say it they have built up a sold core of support which won’t leave them fast maybe 20k hardcore mostly as a result of super league
It’s the next generation nrl should be targeting
As you say lucky their success hasn’t passed over to tv that’s the important bit
League in Melbourne got no such favours in comparison but are growing their crowds even now from a high base
Allianz is closer to redfern oval than Accor?
I know it’s the mole but he’s saying souths to Allianz is done deal
Blake Solly should be thanking albanese and mimms for letting him out of the awful contract he signed
