I think Gus is pretty persuavsive. I don't really care, but I would love it not to be the eels.
I'm not so sure TM. If he goes to the dogs there's a big chance he'll be wearing a premiership ring before too much longer. I'd find it hard to cop that.

However, if he went to parra and turned out to be the next Luke Brooks on even more money, and then started causing the same sort of trouble as he is with us, and not providing jack shit on the field.......Well that's a scenario I could embrace real easy.

With Reynolds we are the spurs of the NRL …out of nowhere everything will fall into place . Benji knows his career may hinge on Reynolds. .He will throw the kitchen sink at him for his leadership and ability to control a game.. then Luai to 6…I’d rather we threw a mill at Reynolds that’s for sure.. …It’s a matter of how long he wants. How much won’t be the problem.
Ive about had enough of this Galvin shit haven't you?

Ironically Madge may be the catalyst…
Reynolds and Luai. You are looking at a genuine premiership halves combo. And don’t tell me Luai wouldn’t get excited. And less on his shoulders will be good for his game

Shame we don't have the backs or forwards to come close to winning a comp. Reynolds is the same, can't be as bad as the last guy, short term fix rubbish we've done for 15 years.
Maybe we should try something new...

Have to! .. Everything’s a risk. At least it’s a proven risk..
And as has been said.. Build it and they will come. We might even get a centre to replace AD

Further down the page, Liddle may leave the Drags?
Reynolds goes on to state he wants to stay in Qld, but would consider any offers?
While he's not a bad player, imo, he's on the wrong side of 30 to be anything but a short term fix and would that then make Latu want to look for other offers? He is contracted here to end of '27, but that doesn't seem to mean much anymore.
We could afford to lose either Galvin or Latu, but not both.

Agree with all this.
During Benji's reign, we had LG, Luai, Sullivan, and Fainu and now we're entertaining a retirement package for a busted aging Reynolds.
Latu is a bloody good player, and regardless of his experience and age, he's not someone that has to have his hand held by Reynolds. Luai can do that.
Latu at ½ and Luai at ⅝ sounds perfect. Depth?
Sullivan is still contracted even though he likes Souths and Bennett my finish his time there, a move to Perth's paradisical environment may kill him.
;)

I don't see Reynolds working. He's stated that he's not keen to come back to NSW. So if he did sign there'd be a big chance he'd be just another very well paid, half broken, well over 30 player who doesn't really want to be here, and if he had his wish, would be somewhere else.

This has never worked well for us in the past.

On top of that, Reynolds would be running the team. This could, and probably would piss off Luai, who wouldn't be keen going back to playing a supporting role, and he'd probably activate his get out clause. This would leave us starting from scratch again in 2 years.

Latu would also be perennially stuck in reggies and would more than likely leave.

If we were going to get an over-priced veteran, I'd chase DCE. Not that I think we should do this, but I think as long as the money was right he'd play whatever role you wanted him to and do it well. He'd play twice as many games as Reynolds as well.

I reckon give Latu and Luai at least the next year and a half to see what they can do. At this stage we need to show faith with what we have.

Nah we don’t.

I think Luai would be more likely to hang around with the leadership that Reynolds can provide him and the team. I think he’s over loaded at the moment. Api is there for him but I don’t think that’s enough.. To have Reynolds leadership on and off the field I think would do wonders for Luai and his game which has been more times than not struggling big time ..For Luai I don’t think either his game or his overall leadership are the finished product .... Luai cracks the whip and the team needs that for defence etc but for the bigger picture I don’t think he’s quite there...The thug life persona will never leave him. BUT combine that with Reynolds daddyness overall I think could be a very good mix..

If Reynolds can have Reece Walsh eating out of the palm of his hand when Walsh was at his disruptive temper tantrum best. that’s a guide to what he can do with anyone that’s a problem …How would Walsh have handled Luai’s reprimand? Especially in real time as the incident unfolded..

Agree. All that is needed is faith in their abilities and to be able to play with each other week in week out.
How can they play good if we doubt them. It time to get some stability.
If anything, we could improve the cattle they have to work.
May and Kai Pearce-Paul could be all that needed atm.
