Him and Hetherington on the same team would be funny lolAlso being reported Mahoney free to talk to other clubs
could do a lot worse than 9 Mahoney 14 Crossland

Bars not highId prefer to sign Matt Lodge than him tbh. Cant stand him.
Telegraph now reporting that Sexton is set to quit the Dogs...
Reckon they've got blokes lined up to take that money... or are they just shedding dead weight so they can sit on the big pile of free money they have with no replacements like we do it? I'm lead to believe that's how business is done. Also being reported Mahoney free to talk to other clubs

We need some sort of pinned post explaining that a club which has four starting spine players all signed to at least 2027, cumulatively making comfortably more than $3.5 million, is not very likely to sign another proven NRL starter in any of those positions. Also being reported Mahoney free to talk to other clubs

Haha yeah no, I know... it was a rhetorical question intended to aggitate everyone that's been explaining to me lately why we're getting rid of players, as if I don't already know.Galvin
Storm’s spine is around 4mil and they are still signing playersThey’re clearing the space to fit Galvin in obviously.

Unless something drastically unexpected happens, Ponga, Sharpe, Brown, Crossland is the starting spine next year.
lol, yeah they literally just signed a player we were also chasing.Storm’s spine is around 4mil and they are still signing players
I know we arnt as appealing as melbourne
I'm still waiting for our gun recruiter to prove himself. Not spending money at all (except on a huge vanity signing) and missing out on a large and growing list of targets seems to be enough to impress us thus far. I'm not impressed yet, but I'm eagerly waiting.
I'm expecting our recruiter to recruit, that's all. Preferably before he gives half the squad the tap on the shoulder, not after.I guess it depends on how responsible you think the new recruitment guy should be for the club being a completely unattractive option for potential signings. I’m sure POS is in negotiations trying his hardest to sell us to new recruits, but most players have brains. They’re not going to sign for a club that has zero success and has the coach being sacked in the headlines 24/7 when they have options to go to Melbourne or the Dogs. If you’re expecting POS to somehow sell us as the better option for them that’s completely unrealistic.
Would you prefer us to just target players that either nobody else wants or only the other shit teams want just so we spend cap money? Because we’ve done that for years and it hasn’t worked out for us has it? At this point if someone wants to try something different I’m happy to give him the benefit of the doubt before writing him off as another failure.

No idea. Not only do I not have the full list of off contract players (both NRL and Cup), nor do I watch as much footy as I used to, but it's also not my full time job to scout them, price them and recruit them.Who would have you targeted?
This is such a frustrating half baked argument. What I can do is observe how other, more successful clubs run their shows. What I continually find is that we like to march to the beat of our own half-tempo drum. Hasn't been working well for us.

I can't do a better job on the field than our players either, but it doesn't mean I can't make a judgement on their performances.

Melbourne isn't Sydney, Brisbane isn't Sydney, Penrith is barely Sydney. Newcastle is mad nice place to live. I reckon it's all the turnover and instability. Also we are still trying to recruit local Caucasian lads instead of tapping into the Islander market. I wish we would target England more at least.I wonder how much of our "not an attractive club" stuff goes away if we were based in Sydney.
Those are successful teams. It's not relevant to my post.Melbourne isn't Sydney, Brisbane isn't Sydney, Penrith is barely Sydney. Newcastle is mad nice place to live.
