Effort was excellent, unlucky not to be 10-12 points up at half time.

Riffs scramble was excellent, we’ve played much worse and won this year.

we are a work in progress but JR has something cooking here.

we just need a competent RR team to do their jobs and fill the gaps in the squad.

lol oh well it’s nice to dream.

yeah he’s done an awesome job…I hope he’s given every opportunity to take us to another level in the next 12 to 18 months,
The board gave him a 4 yr contract

I think they hold Ryles in higher regard then MON.

If anything MON is under the pump more atm then Ryles because everyone can see the improvement on the field with the current cattle.

lower grades are going well, how much credit do we give mon for that?
Generally the younger players are a result of the planning , identification and signings by the 2 guys in charge of junior recruitment. DeGois and Shepard have done a better than average job, not only are there local juniors in the reps and progressing into Cup, but players from NZ, QLD, Country and some other NRL teams .

If you break it down, we both had 50% possession, yet Penrith ran 240m more than us. Achieved through their superior centres and forwards.

I was pretty clear that we struggled to get to the red zone in a scoring position. If it wasn’t for Mitch’s kicking game, they would have been camped in our half for the full 40 after oranges.

We have good players, they have great players.

Panthers defense is much like the Fins. The rush up and put pressure on the ball runner

Where our defense is take 2/3 steps forward as 1 line and meet them there. It allows the attack to make a lot more meters but it also stops holes forming.

Panthers also hold you up with 2 in the tackle until a 3rd or 4th player joins in to take you to the ground.
Whereas we have 2 in a tackle most of the time.

Obviously Yeo is a great player, but in particular the hooker / edge forwards (smith, kk and Moretti) v panthers (Martin, Kenny, Sorensen), the panthers players are good, but it's probably more the experience difference. Our 3 have 52 games v 379 games. That's a huge difference.

Even comparing the whole starting pack it's 886 v 490. They have 5 players with 100 plus games, only 1 with less. We have 2 with 100 plus games, 4 with less. Interestingly our next best is Hopgood who only has 56.

Ryles is doing a good job, with a pretty inexperienced side. We definitely going to be better for it.

They have fans? That's more interesting 😂

If us or dogs or even tigers win 4 comps in a row and had to play out out Penrith you can bet it will be a sell out..
The pink really does stand out in the crowd when your there.

I do think Penrith have won a generation of fans similar to us in the 1980s.

I dont think they will be as big as us in terms of fans but in 20-30 years once kids get older who have jumped on i suspect they will be far bigger then what they are now.

My only criticism for the game is that if Papalii was brought on to play hooker surely he was also told to run...1 run from memory
He is a tiny little bloke though, and whether he runs should depend on the state of the defence. If the play-the-ball is slow there's no point in someone like Papalii (or Moses) having a run.

dunno what the final stat was but we did have nearly 60% of the ball most of the game
The final count was 50%-50%, so us having nearly 60% of the ball most of the game would mean Penrith had more than 60% for a significant part of the game at the end. I remember we had over 55% at halftime though.
