The eastern grandstand looks great.

As expected, reassigning GA South as allocated seating means it also looks very healthy.

GA North is sparser, but they have opened Level 3 (walkups/better weather-proofing?).

Level 6 west is largely empty, as expected.

Top level on the tv side looks quite bare. I reckon there's around 50-52k there.

Last year was 45,496 and this is noticeably bigger than that. I think it's in the range of 55-60k, with the weather being the only thing that may have stopped a 60k crowd.

I am simply pointing out that right at the moment spending billions on stadia is on the ode in a big way. Tassie is an example. But do go on.

I'm not saying they have to do it right now, but they will need to start thinking about it in the next 5-15 years, especially as Accor ages, Brisbane building a brand new state of the art stadium, and the MCG looking at an upgrade of their southern stand in the next 20 years. Regarding the MCG, the talks are they want to increase the capacity to 110-120k and add a roof. Will be interesting to see if that actually happens.

The stadium that the AFL want for Hobart is ridiculous for a city of 250,000.

5-15 years is about right. It won’t be any earlier. The stadium planned down here is ridiculous. Given the rain today this crowd is excellent. And they are getting a great game.

All I'm saying is NSW needs to keep up with the other states or risk losing major events. The stadium is nearly 30 years old and the NSW government need to start seriously thinking about the future of the venue. As Rugby League fans, the sooner the better really.

If NSW wants to stay competitive attracting major events, they will need to either upgrade or rebuild Accor sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile you have Eddie McGuire as part of Tourism Victoria talking about putting a roof on the MCG so they can attract even more events, and Brisbane is about to build a multi billion dollar stadium.

That means I'd like something to be done in the next 5-15 years as I said previously and not 30 years down the track with something the same age as Canberra Stadium. Urgent would be doing it as soon as possible.

I'm commenting on it because I'm passionate about it. Some people on here just don't seem to care, which is fine, but stop shutting down other people who do care.
