He's been on tilt ever since Madge's glass houses comment last series.
Spent his NRL playing career getting an armchair ride from the officials and the media, in a sheltered bubble where he was told that people only hated on him because:
a) They're jealous non-Storm fans
b) They're bitter Blues
Then starts his coaching career managing 3 games a year against a bloke who thinks picking Gutho off the bench for a 3 minute cameo is sane (amongst other things). Cue more smoke blown up his arse by the media. It really must be Billy Slater's world and anybody who criticises him IS just a jealous, bitter loser...
But all it took was one series lining up against a competent coach with winning NRL experience for the whole facade to come crashing down. As I type these words, the series is still a live one and already Billy has shown that "Qld pick and stick" is the load of revisionist history bullshit it always was, AND used the tragic death of a beloved former Qld player and coach to try and deflect from the mean people saying mean things about his attitude as a player
They say adversity is a true indicator of character, and I am so glad more people are waking up from the media-induced daze to see the real character of William Slater, at long last...
