Lane has been facing some challenges with his form in what has been a difficult start to the 2025 season for Parramatta.

Lane is contracted until at least the end of the 2025 season after signing a three-year extension in October 2022, with a mutual option for 2026, which both parties would need to agree to.

Ok they exist but I think the conditions where they would hold any value for both parties would be extremely limited because ideally for both parties the player value doesn’t remain the same

Did either podcast bring up where our 12th home game will be next year now we don't have Darwin.

I asked Sarantinos this question a month ago at the Newcastle Members event during my 10 min chat with him and he gave me 3 options they were looking at.

I am surprised this wasn't brought up as its genuine question.
Yes was asked on the Talking Parra podcast

Jim said it’s still in discussion, and they are discussing the Vegas plans for 2027 with the NRL as that may dictate what happens in 2026 (assuming if we are going to be the home team in Vegas that would work against us signing a long term deal to play a home game away starting in 26 as we wouldn’t want 2 home games lost in 27.
Jim said whilst some fans says moving game puts profits before the fans, it is actually done to benefit the fans because the financial windfall goes directly into the football department.

What I took from it is we will more then likely continue to play 1 home game away every year, the location is just not yet set

I think the Christchurch option is the early favourite with the new stadium opening up next year if its logistically possible.

And the plus would be it wont be against the warriors as it will be a double header is my understanding if it does go ahead with the Warriors being the home team for the other game.

I think peeps have gone and assumed after Josh Hodgson, that all sporting contract MOs include a fall back Call option for the Player at a lower consideration. They don't. Normally, if the club declines, the player is a free agent.

Lane might have a similar pie n coke player option trigger, but it's a hasty conclusion to assume that he does, just because one or two have in the past.
Isn’t the Hodgson MO a better indicator of typical NRL mutual options than anything coming out of some foreign baseball player market?
