Nope not in the same class. To'o stands alone as the best winger of all time

I love Brian as much as any Panther fan and he has been an amazing player. But he has two clear weaknesses - Height and Speed.

Kiraz although a different style of winger - has much of the physicality of To'o - but is taller, faster, and has a wicked offload. His ceiling is higher though I doubt he will ever match Brians ability to score 'in traffic'.

Not proven at all. Paid on potential.

I think he will kick on. I just find the timing of the signing absolutely daft. The Moylan situation end of 2017 seemed untenable so starting the trade with Maloney seemed fine at the time. Then you fast forward 12 months and we are sacking our coach a few weeks out from the finals.

Gus' admission at the time was that we were never winning a comp in 2018 with Hook anyway. Do we have a parallel with Galvin here? That the current Bulldogs spine isn't good enough to win a comp? Sends a shit message to the guys who had their team on top of the ladder.

He looks worst case a solid NRL but is he a half? Or a backorder.

It is a typical Gus signing plenty of Bryce Cartwright 5 year deal in this

Gus Gould and Cameron Ciraldo have done an amazing job in a very short period of time.

I understand the narrative doesn’t suit the Gus haters on here but credit where credit is due and the Bulldogs are well placed for a top four position in 2025.

We have to play them twice in the run in to the finals and we need to start getting getting better, somewhere near what we are capable of.

I see improvement but we are only performing at 60% where we need to be.

If we are serious contenders in 2025 then we need to make a statement against the Dogs.

Im impressed with Ciraldo but the gould love i found over the top. They are literally just going out and buying a premiership squad because of Laundy a billionaire sponsor, its not impressive its chequebook league at its absolute finest. Its what the roosters did for their back to back premierships. Whenever a star player hits the market the dogs are top of the list for signing them. They are first and they still forcing two starters in their spine out of the club to fit in the new signings.

We need to win at least 1 of the 2 games against them.

We will win both.. Bank it.

Very well could. Not concerned about the Dogs at all.

But by round 26 I think you'll find the Dogs will want to start hitting their straps. Pair that up with no wins against Penrith since 2019. If they don't win this week then they will go hard in round 26 and play their grand final early.

That is totally fine. Our team knows you save your best for last.

The form team of the comp need to start hitting their straps by round 26? They're the only team who've had any kind of consistent form so far.

Every team needs to start finding their best form at the end of the year. If you're telling me the Bulldogs are playing to their potential right now then I'll rule them out of a premiership in 2025.

They haven't done anything this year that is all that impressive if I'm honest. The Raiders comeback was nice but their opposition that day was another team with big question marks.

I'll take them more seriously if they get us on Thursday. They've got no excuses coming off a bye.

They're playing exactly like us through the 4 premierships. Not in style but by being relentlessly consistent in what they do for 80 minutes. Panthers rarely won big or flashy either.

The 2021 and 2022 teams were destroying teams prior to Origin. They were super fun to watch.

The 2023 and 2024 teams were relentless grinders.

Yep brought not bred. Says it all. Becats, I agree re Gould. He's beginning to tinker, just like he did towards his end time here at Penrith.

Overpaying players on potential....Blake, Reg, The worst aspect of Gus is his continual obsession and love of 'new toys'.......Just wait as he falls out of love with some of his previous signing, then fawns over his 'new toys'........The meddle time has begun.

They have a lanky rookie winger as the 19 so he could be the guy to come in for Kiraz if he’s out. Cleary could either make it a nightmare debut or he reaps the benefit of no tape. Presumably kid has some talent as Wilson would normally be in as far as I know.

It’s not a case of Gould love, it’s just the reality. Like his methods or not, he has turned around the clubs fortunes so he deserves credit.

What I think is wrong, is bringing in new recruits, many on big money, pushing them over the cap which then requires players being forced out, some of whom have existing contracts beyond this year. I don’t think it’s right.

Surely Blake Wilson would be on the bench if Kiraz was any real chance of missing the game

The Dogs have other than the one blip have developed the defensive resilience to grind out wins.

We are still only 70% near our best, but if we can go up a gear tomorrow night then there is no reason why we can’t beat them.

Im looking forward to it, I think it is a test for us as to whether we are any chance of being a threat this season. We need to win, we need the two points.
