Some idiots oin here said we should sign Cobbo. We've just seen evidence on why this would be a bad idea. We'd get a similar result if we signed Fafita.
Didn’t watch the 2nd half😂. So good seeing the bulldogs going down and our former star throwing four hospital passes to his team mates who had no chance in the second half. They’ll soon get sick of that. 😂

That's a bit rough Wiz. Whoever your referring to were probably just sharing an opinion, doesn't make them idiots.
Cobbo does look overweight to me. If he lost a few kilos and got a yard quicker he might reproduce that early form that got most people's attention.

For the kikau h/pass any gun half would have seen the winger was free.. Galvin could have stamped his mark on the game right there.. he wasn’t even looking out there. more at the opposition? and he took ages to pass.

I'm one of the idiots, but I maintain he is a bit like Latrell Mitchell. He has Freak talent and when motivated, and fit, he is an elite strike weapon.
Exactly, he and Latrell are cut from the same mold.
He just has too much weight around the hips and gut and bum and thighs. :)

We should not entertain the idea of buying lazy players no matter how talented they are. Other clubs may be in better positions to take a Cobbo type......but we certainly can't. We will not turn around a Fafita-type.

I think the majority of forumers on here have agreed with you on that.
Regarding Fafita and Cobbo, if they came cheap and could replicate their form that saw them as two of the most destructive ball runners in the game then yes, absolutely sign them.
BUT, that's not going to happen, not with us anyway.

Josh Feledy to Manly apparently. I dont think thats a major loss.

We still have Douehi. Faataape, Naden, Staines, Matamua and Tumeth off contract.

Any views? Id like to keep Faataape and I think Douehi is a useful backup (and goal kicker), but I cant see where AD plays when May gets elevated into the back line.

Feledy is no great loss. He's had a fair crack at 1st grade and not handled it. Granted he's only young but as you mentioned we have better options with better young players waiting in the wings.

I still feel AD is a bit underestimated...apart from being a solid goalkicker ( and the occasional blooper) even though he's not a star he's shown what we've needed from the halves...structure .. attacking shape and PATIENCE! I have faith in Luai but I hope he took a (big) tip from Douehi yesterday.
* also he gives himself room... digs into the line and always looks to set his outside men up

Presuming Taylan May gets elevated, where does Douehi play?

Id have Toa in front of him in the centres and he doesnt get a look in when the halves are fully fit.

Not sure he would be keen to hang around as a replacement.

Yeah I agree...injuries usually take care of that question across a season but you can't really sell that to a player with self belief...he'd also probably make a very good ball playing lock but ??

If he stays he is our back-up half/utility player but you could play him in state cup and see if he can develop as a lock forward. If he does he might give us an option there and work his way back into first grade. We'd have to pay him at this level though.

I think @Tiger Ted is right in that he won't be here. I think he'll get a better offer than what we are offering and he'll go..
