I would prefer Gus came back next series,

Gus would never do it because he runs the risk of losing the coaching messiah image if they lose. Even though he pretends not to, the guy gets off on people calling him a super coach and that he’s above all else.

I also don’t know how much it would help given his selections aren’t likely to change much from this year. He can’t seem to work out that Cleary is a problem in the side and will definitely continue to over saturate the side with Penrith and Roosters players due to his own biases (with probably a few more Dogs added in).

Gus was talking about NRL club culture a while ago and said it takes 18 months to build a club and 18 months to destroy one.

In Origin it takes less than 12 months.

Even NSW under Freddy that last series of his vs Madge last year...

I would prefer Gus came back next series, or Sticky juggles the Blues job with his Raiders commitments or Bellyache suck it up and go all-out vs. his Storm players- than see Laurie Daley coach another series.

Threw away 2013, won 2014 off the back of the playing group and Jarryd Hayne at his peak. Got smashed in the 2015 decider, would have been swept in 2016 were it not for some of the most one-sided refereeing and a miracle try in Game 3, threw away 2017, threw away the 2025 decider.

Laurie is a people-pleaser, everyone likes him. But I suspect he lets the players run the show in Origin camp, and it showed on the field tonight...

If the NSWRL are serious about turning a corner and avoiding mistakes past, they get somebody else to lead next series.
Geoff Toovey would make a great NSW coach imo

one of the most maligned players and coaches, doesn't give a f**k about pleasing anyone

Plodders like King and Stefano are not fit to clip on May and Keon's bumbags let alone play Origin.

Every time NSW lose you look at the forward's metres gained and there is always a heap of them making f**k all.

I am from Canberra cuz. Take the downtrodden routine elsewhere
Having been a previous resident of the city for several years, I recall going to Canberra Stadium back when it was still called Bruce Stadium.

My top five Origin moments of 2025:

1. Liam Martin acting tough with a disinterested Tino, and seconds later getting folded like laundry by an outside back.

2. Trell rolling like an obese Porpoise trying to milk a penalty.

3. Trell getting nut checked after trying to thug up

4. Spencer Lenui getting more hype than an new IPhone release and giving park football output

5. Nathan Cleary

As bad as our halves were the decision to continually play without a hooker is ridiculous. Robson is a worse Mitch Kenny and Mitch kinda sucks
