And because of his shit goal kicking he lost game 2 for us. He lost a few for us this season with the same technique. He would not be kicking next season if it was up to me.
He is too close to the posts.
He needs to take kicks further back..
I can teach him. If he had some sort of soccer background he would be better.
In saying that his body language sucks

Back from the game, the frustration in errors was there for all to see. What is obvious at the game , is the slowing down at the ruck by the Storm, every tackle they stretch the time and Sutton seemed to wave his arms but did little to stem it.

How in a game like that , when the Storm deliberately slows the ruck that Parra got not one 6 again, and Harry Grant is the new Cam Smith with his effort to be in the refs ear bascially all game.

Sutton seemed not keen to penalise the Storms tactics and played into their hands. What the Eels needed was Moses to orchestrate more when we had possession in the red zone. Footy Dean is a place holder and a more explosive 6 who is more a run first player would enable Mitch to possibly do more.

Anyway, disappointed is more the feeling and it’s obvious we need a couple of reinforcements ahead of next season, where they come from I guess is the question, but it’s a definite need.
The referees and our recruitment and retention team. Who’d have thought you’d blame them? Throw in our backs are too slow for the trifecta. The commentators for some extra spice.

Boring.

It is strange isn't it. In 7 years as the main goal kicker, this is just the 2nd time he has kicked at less than 77% (currently at 71% for 2025).

Look at us complaining about a stellar performance without 95% of our GF team from only two years ago while DELIBERATELY resting our NZed 5/8 and trialling young guns losing by one clearly knocked on try against a team that'll probably win this year's GF.

Our improvement is beyond parabolic, we're off the climate change hockey stick charts!
I’ll be honest mate, I don’t give a shit about simply playing well. Win a f**king game merkins, nothing matters if you lose.

I hear ya, mate.

But, baby steps, crawl before you walk before you run and all that.

We had to have Neville Glover and the replay GF before we won our first so look back at the season and see the advancement we've already taken under Ryles' cleanout of BA's detritus and look to next year.

Despite the missed tackle count (which was again, way too high), I think one noticable improvement that we were all bemoaning a lack of for the last few years, is our kick-chase and line-speed. Both vastly improved for pretty much the whole 80 mins these days.
Basic fundamentals of footy and even if you're a shit player/team these should be non negotiables

It should be said with all the complaints on here that this year is unlike any other year in the last 10: This year is a cleanout year.

BA had a decade to win the GF and bring us a premiership.

This year is the first in Ryles' cleanout of everything that went before.

Already he's matched Ciraldo's first year at the Dogs which the media is creaming over.

We just beat a top 4 contender and ran ragged the probable eventual GF winners with a completely inside out turned around squad from 2024 while leaving on the sideline almost 2.5 million of untapped salary cap.

If I'm Eels CEO I'm giving Ryles' and team a bonus.

I should also point out that the terms Ryles' was given when he started must have calculated this year.

It wasn't "you MUST WIN NEXT year!!! FFS"

The tender was for a cleanout of BA's legacy and a turnaround in the Club from juniors through to seniors reflected in overall club performance.

I just got home and skimmed this thread. I’m not on board with all this scapegoating of forwards.

Whilst we tried hard and tested them, we left our finesse in Brisbane. We played without a 6 and a 1 that could not create plays. Moses was on his own out there tonight and our shape was mostly poor.

Parra we love you but you're bringing the fans down.

You could clean out the club from a losing 2024

But if you don't have a winning 2025

Parra we hate you, and we'll shitbag every player from 1 through to 30

Next year we'll hate ourselves as much as we hate you (Parra we love you!)
