Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

He must have a lot going on in his head to think he could actually drive.

I don’t understand it as he’s been in trouble before.
An out of control ego thing I'd say TSP. Thinks he's better and more important than everyone else. At least that's how he's come across on TV to me. Always telling people how they should act and behave. Well the shoe is on the other foot now.

Gee they don't mind a drink on NRL360 do they?

He was almost 5 times over the limit, smashed into 3 parked cars. Failed to stop and give particulars

If what I'm reading is true, it is hard to comprehend such a crime and what mindset he was in prior to getting pissed. It's the only period where there can be mitigation imo, as there's no defense for a drunk who gets behind the wheel, end of story.
In some countries during the 1700s like London, they were hanging starving lower class citizens for stealing bread to eat.
This imbecile can thank his lucky stars that he lives in a country which has a lenient judicial system.

Well they make a large part of their living demonising people. And that involves hurting a lot of peoples reputations and indirectly…their families. So it’s not a very good life.

At other times, journos expose some important things that clubs and players want to keep hidden. And we know from our experience the club never admits to making mistakes. Everything is good all of the time, which is impossible. The NRL is even worse.

I’ve never had much time for him, never put much weight in his opinion anyway.

In the broad, the demon drink strikes again. If you can’t handle it, don’t abuse it. There’s a few personality types who should never go near it. They can stay at home even. But don’t put the rest of us at risk.

He’s missed really important signs or can’t cope, but like Kenty, he should have restrained himself.

Drinking is a huge industry, but like gambling, it really mugs these susceptible types.

Some people, just in their heads, we’ve all met them, they simply can’t recover.

I’m a bit biased because I don’t drink and gave it up a couple of decades ago. I got too busy and never worried about it. I could well have gone on with it, I don’t know.

I just can’t picture a scenario where it could have helped me with anything. But everyone’s different I guess.

Jimmy Barnes went through a lot of depression when he gave up drinking, all the time he missed with his kids and stuff. So a double whammy. An amazing talent. The biggest regret of his life was drinking so hard for so long.

The warnings were all there plus he wasn’t a kid. He’s very very unwell.

Forget about his career, we simply can’t have him on the road.

If he’s got form, he can even go to gaol for this.

I’ll post up the penalties later.

I liked hooper ..he wasn’t afraid to stand up for an opinion but could shut up at the right time.. dont we all drink and drive at some point in our lives.. if you did even once your just as bad as he is.. 5x over wow.. I was 1.3 when I was caught and I was pissed..he was 2.4 ish That’s close to literally blind hence the car crashes.. poor c
There’s a lot to be said for giving up drinking before it’s too late. It’ll get you eventually if you’ve got shit you need to blank out. Either with the cops family/ friends or health

You don’t get a kiss on the cheek like mam did here in nsw,

He hit three cars and failed to stop.

Maybe he parked up the road.

Sitting in his ute all alone just realising he’s pretty much destroyed the rest of his life.

Turn the radio on and wait for the law to arrive.

Lucky he even found his car at 2.4, then again, it was pretty unlucky.

That's true. Unfortunately, society feeds on the Days Of Our Lives stuff.
For me though, I get pepped up when I read feel good stories and stuff about the tigers recruiting etc. I don't want to read, watch or listen to rubbish.
The journo muppets spend too much time reporting crap. Often they are the perpetrators or victims of the very content they promote.
When are they going to support the football code that indirectly employs them instead of being hellbent on dragging the game into the gutter.
The fact that we're posting about this proves that the media will always have something to talk about.
The crazy thing is, there is so much great content out there so why do they waste our time reporting crap.

Well I’m more sympathetic to them tbh as a lot of stories wouldn’t come out unless they broke them.

Such as Benji sneaking off last year on a family holiday mid season and Richo going on his overseas junket to offload and cut deals. None of these trips were announced by the club.

As a member I want to know where my funds are going.

In terms of muck, it depends.

But It’s when they set themselves up as moral crusaders, that’s a joke. Kent’s fall from grace was quite marked.

Perhaps too we don’t see more neutral media in the game such as the abc etc.
Because aunty has been taken over by reactionary extremist woke champagne socialists pushing failed agendas.

@Poupou Escobar has a lot of insights into the emerging social landscape of Australia. Rugby leagues footprint is not growing as it might. If the game thinks it can just go on like it used to, it’s going to contract and disappear.

They all earn a shit load of money.
Get a taxi FFS.
Kent said the 360 salary was excellent.

You make a good point. He didn’t need to drive.

Might have taken him just a second or two to make that stupid and criminal decision.

He allegedly didn’t stop to give particulars. As an owner of a parked car, I’d be less than impressed. I’d conclude it’s cowardly.
