Rebuild Kogarah into a 22-25,000 mini Commbank for Saints and Sharks to share.
Play all the Sydney games for the clubs there.
Out of town games could still be played in Wooloware and Wollongong

What happend with the LC? I thought the development had ring fenced $18mill for its upgrade years ago, now they are having to borrow $35mill and it hasnt even been started?
Best hope people dont wake up to what a waste of time pokies are!

Yeh the story seems to be changing

Looks like they parked some of that cash in mutual funds and are going to use bank finance instead

It’s not what was being said about this previously

Their cash at bank is only 5 million ish

“Cronulla CEO Dino Mezzatesta says the club’s stadium needs a $180 million cash injection to deliver a state-of-the-art facility with a 23,000-strong capacity.”

“Sharks Stadium, however, remains an issue for Cronulla, with Mezzatesta lobbying local, state and federal government for funding.”

Wonder if he means knocking down and rebuilding the et stand and the grass bit on the eastern side cause they can’t do anything on the other two sides

And I’m sure the unit owners to the north of that stand would be complaining about view loss

He’s wrong when he says they received no stadium funding they get money for that newer western stand from the federal govt

They won't get that kind of money whilst they own it.

How much would they get if they sold the land?

I hate it how they imply $180m will turn it into a state of the art stadium. Let's be honest, $180m buys one good grandstand and a bit of a refresh of the rest of the ground.

They might have better luck getting some funds if they focus on what the region will lose if they can't get some assistance versus the other narratives they've been painting (which has primarily been - other teams have received investment, so we should to)

100 million plus

But then the leagues club becomes a white elephant and they are spending 30 million just on that

All these articles are overblown when construction is finished it’ll be ok and better than leichardt kogarah or Belmore. A bit better than Campbelltown.

One day when we are all dead sure sell that land off and move somwhere inland near a station and build a new ground m

Club is cashed up. Book value net equity is 53 million dollars so the real number is way higher

I’ve seen some Q Cup grounds in better condition than Shark Park. Langlands at Coorparoo, Mackay Stadium and Dolphins Stadium.

It’s got two good stands

The other side is basically the leagues club with a small stand attached

Pre game northies and the restaurants and cafes on the beach aren’t too far either

Spent a good year there in the Peter burns stand, the ground is perfectly fine when your in there

The aerial shots on tv showing it hemmed in between two blocks of residential towers don’t do it any justice

But they own it and they will make a mint when it’s finished

Arlc has zero power of clubs choice of grounds and as their crowds at kogarah showed their fans won’t travel regularly

Talking about the asset value the club would be on par with the dolphins or not far off

The shire is like the northern beaches it’s an enclave in Sydney and their ground is bang in the middle of it

Have a read through the thread on the Sharks forum, not many saying it’s perfectly fine these days, even Sharks fans seem to be giving up on it. Not sure that the solution is but hopefully they can find one whether it’s upgrading the current ground or a new option.

Been a building site for 3 plus years

Also would’ve affected entry and exits

Can’t see any money for a new stadium even if it was government funded and shared with the dragons

Neither club seems to want to move out of their traditional grounds anyway

Down the track the dragons won’t be playing many games at kogarah anyway imo

They are spending 30 million on the leagues club fitout and the bulk of that is to make money off game day

While they will obviously make money on match days, that is only 12 or 13 days a year, I reckon the other 340 or so days of trading will make the bulk of the money.

they diversified the cash assets, they would be borrowing on pretty good terms and it will just pay itself off withgambling revenue generated.
in the mean time you can use your cash on other investment
its a smartwer way to do it rather than just sink all the money into the one thing
