I stopped in for a coffee with my 92 year old Nana today and she pointed out that Ford is completely useless. I can’t believe Blair Sr would be so rude as to contradict an old lady like that but I’ll let him off just this once.

I had a day off today and got day-dreaming on a walk uptown. It gets quiet on the other side of the highway and my mind conjured up a fantasy result, we win 28-26 on the siren, with a flying Dallin put down millimetres inside the chalk. Boyd converted from the sideline.

The sequence went like this:

Warriors - Penrith
0-6
0-12
0-18
0-24 (needless to say, a disastrous start)
6-24 (a warriors intercept! With no speed we had to pass it around, in the 40th minute)
Halftime.
12-24 (the comeback's on)
12-26 (an infuriating Panthers penalty, just to add to the drama)
18-26
22-26 (Halasima takes a bomb, 76th minute, Bunker goes crazy checking, but stops clock)
28-26 (Dallin and Boyd).
Full-time.

One of the great Warriors wins!

My old man - aged 85 but with his faculties - was stoked when I told him Ford's back in. He said him and Barnett are vital cogs; tough, getting in there, making tackles, plenty of energy.

He got me agreeing.

sounds like a good man! Completely wrong in this case, but not in a way dissimilar to many half his age.

enjoy the footy Blair snr and jnr

The most outrageously fanciful thing about that scenario is Boyd making that match winning kick

Nanas are the f**king greatest, but Blair Snr gave life to our forum's version of Gus Gould/Matt Nable.

It's a slugout on Saturday, Nana Vatuvei v Blair Snr. Will Jacko be a hero or a zero? The winner should have the forum POTY named after them

Fully expect Webster to roll out a predictable team…. Hope for a miracle or to keep it close. A weirdly different team would reek of panic, tbh I wouldn’t have a problem with that…. Not sure that without the aforementioned miracle there’s any combo of 17 that can win

There's talk going around that Laban might be available. Would be nice, but can't see him coming straight back into the team off a broken leg, surely.

Good player but to go into finals on the back of 5-6 weeks out, is he that essential? Depends on EIT's fitness, I guess.

With the weather back to being overcast and wet, and me having to work at three pm, my match dreams were much less positive today. Put it this way, not only did Boyd not have a match-winning conversion, I don't recall him taking a conversion at all.

It's a grim reality we're facing on Saturday.

I hope the team named is a dummy pass and on friday the real team will be named with Tuaupiki and Healey in and Zelezniak out

I bought tickets and will go regardless but the team named today will have already lost at halftime with 4 tries scored on Zelezniaks wing with him touching no one
Nathan Cleary and others sitting on the sideline in the second half smiling and having a nice rest for a hard game the next week

I'm being relentlessly positive this week...but realistically yes, Penrith are going to hit up that left side of their attack and ask a lot of questions. I hope we know how we're going to deal with that inevitability
