I think most on here were keen on JAC.

I did have a few minor concerns but was happy to grab him and saw him as an upgrade on Sivo.

JAC was looking for a chance at redemption and lets be honest he deserves a medal for screwing over the Dogs finals campaign last year.

Was a classic sliding doors moment i reckon in a few years we will be pissing ourselves over it if we do win a comp with the Fox while the Dogs are floundering with the best teenager Gus has ever seen.

Not everyone. I was all for it cos it was absolutely no risk. Deal in the club’s favour so if it didn’t work it cost us next to zip. The issue with Nelson is his massive contract and poor discipline.

Nelson’s character and predisposition to get suspended aside - I just don’t think he suits the current game and Ryles seems to be targeting a more mobile forward pack to fit the current playing style. Unless the rules change again he’ll be more of a liability than add value.

You can see he's tried to adapt; the merkin is a lot skinnier than he was five years ago. But it's detracted from what he did best, which was running over the top of merkins.

Asofa Solomona would be a great addition. He needs out of Melbourne.
As Ryles did with Jnr he would get him to strip 6-8kgs and be more agile and dynamic.
I think Rylesy has a way he can demand and expect the best out of players otherwise they quickly become surplus.
No big name signings coming unless Matto, Hands and unexpected departures happen. The play for top tier signings is for 2027. How do I know? I just know 😜

Happy if Hands comes back. We still need a no. 3 hooker and Coinakis is probably not ready for a full year of reserves yet.
Matterson can eat a bag of dicks over in the UK. What will likely happen? Hands will go and we will get Matterson back.

What would Hands cost us? A guess is 200k. Min is what 130k? Squads carry 3 hookers. 70k isn't a huge amount to lose for what Hands covers. If Riley or Silva goes down he is quite good cover. Maybe worth the extra 70k for a spine position. Esepcialy when our starters are so young and inexperienced.

Mattersons costing 650k and not even a consideration for first grade is a huge problem. Between this year and possibly next its a 1.3 mill hole and costing us a possible top 5 spot in 26

What on earth is going on at the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Old Wayne Bennett was recently offered boom young Melbourne Storm halfback Jonah Pezet on a one-year loan deal to start next season. It could have led to a longer-term deal.
And they knocked it back. How can the recruitment people at this club not understand how good this player is. I rate him up there alongside the best youngsters in the game including Isaiya Katoa and Ethan Strange. Seriously, CEO Blake Solly has to take a long hard look at their recruitment.

Buzz is kinda fun at times on podcasts but geez, what a shit take. What are South's now a feeder team for the Storm? I hope Solly told them to go f**k themselves.

It dosent appear Ryles is overly hung up on this kid either. Maybe it's because Pezet appears more a 7 than a 6 or maybe he's not rated by coaches as highly as the know all media. Personally I'd love Wishart as our 5/8. He would be a perfect foil for Moses.
That said, my early tip, Twidle, apparently had a cracker of a game yesterday as did Volkman.

It could have led to a long term deal... If it didn't they just wasted a season developing another teams halfback..
