Is a 1 year break really "the end"? Those cheating purple merkins haven't EVER even gone back to back.
So it’s your faultI am new to this forum this year.
Sad that the run has ended, but what a ride it's been. Can't complain after 5 straight grand finals and 4 premierships.
We won't see this feat matched.
Proud of the team and the club - especially given where we came from. The younger players in it will be better for this year next season - we will be a force next year. And we will be hungrier.
Cleary throwing purses at Mam than Martin wanting to be a fake tough guy changed all momentum and cost Penrith the game
My Morning after thoughts while I have my coffee:
Broncos have a lot to be proud of. Always rated Madge as a coach. Hard to be upset when you realise we didn't really get a pre season. had no home ground and they pulled themselves up from last. Talagi will cop a bit of heat but the kid had shoulder surgery during the off season so was pretty good all things considered. Can't be anymore proud to support the club I do.
Yeah, as some of us predicted, Madge put real steel into that squad. They didn't fold like 2023 GF/2024 Broncos.
If Walters had still been the coach, or some other rando...I'd have expected them to fold.

Nah. I thought Nath was good yesterday. His kicking was very good, he made some dangerous runs and was a weapon in defense. He had a quiet last 20 but we were getting smashed. He was the best of our big players imo. Martin was good also, but I thought Yeo, Edwards and Too were lacking the energy that usually puts them in a different category of player. If there's a major concern out of this season, its how badly those 3 specifically faded towards the end of the year.I'd hate to say it, but you are right. Cleary let his frustrations and emotions get to him and it affected him and the team negatively.
Yeah, he has single Handley won some incredible games and been clutch many times, but there is no denying that other than his goal kicking, today he wasn't the 'Iceman' we are accustomed to.
I've almost lost count the number of times I have seen Blaize make a linebreak only to then fumble/knock on. It is something I was harping on about early in the season and someone in here chose to argue about the issue with me. It bit us on the arse this time. Wish he would stamp it out of his game. I understand that every player knocks on occasionally, nobody is perfect, but there is something about his style that makes him prone to losing the ball in contact.
It drives me nuts. When he made the break I was shouting 'HOLD THE BALL' only for him to drop it as the words were leaving my mouth. So Frustrating, but I am not going to blame him for this loss. It was a 'team' effort, including the coaching.
Yeah Nathan did well, we just ran out of gas.Nah. I thought Nath was good yesterday. His kicking was very good, he made some dangerous runs and was a weapon in defense. He was also right to shove at Mam too, who definitely took him out in the air. Every chance the bunker looks at that and gives a penalty (which we desperately needed) but it didnt work out that way. Martin flying in as hard as he did wasn't a smart move, but the way the NRL adjudicates on players sticking up for their team mates is beyond ridiculous (see the Dolphins/Roosters game a month or so ago). I'm not going to look too dimly on a back rower flying in to defend his halfback in a scuffle. Its footy, not hello kitty's island adventure.
The jury's out for me on Talagi too. He's clearly insanely talented but he seems to have no concept of temperance and at times a bit more ambition than capacity.
I think he'll improve, but I hope its not an innate footy iq issue. He desperately needs an off switch.
I mean, I hope that's all it is. The game is littered with players who just don't have it behind the ears though.I think thats inexperience. Look at our 2020 team vs the 2022 team.
