What's funny @hindy111 ? The bloke would die during an origin game, would be Brett Hodgeson all over again.
Internationals maybe

Our top 17 hardly has any back ups, next we going to blend in a new hooker, full back and move Martin and Tago inside more.
As a 14 id bring in someone who isn't just sitting around needing ozempic to stay fit. Edgar and Attard? Cogger Should be in NSW cup unless Nathan or Blaize is out.
My bench would be
14 point of difference a player to blend into 1st grade
15 Henry
16 Garner
17 Patea

Move Sorro on Paps to replace him

I wouldnt be moving Sorro along but agree if Patea is to take the next step it should be Sorro that misses out. That being said he is the next forward picked for the edge or middle if we need someone. Hopefully he is happy in that role next year cause we need him for depth.

I also think we need to reduce Yeo's minutes for his own good. 60-65 a game.

Given the ageing squad and increased likelihood of injuries Sorro should be kept and rotated into the squad when needed.

He was a weapon as a mobile reserve prop combining with Spencer in 2021 and 2022.

It'd be interesting to see if he can do it with Patea.

I'd let Sorro see out his deal.

He is still a first grader. Plays middle and edge. That versatility is quite useful.

If he does get leapfrogged in first grade then NSW cup will need him for sure. We've had a huge amount of turnover.

Sorro looked really good after his enforced break, but had a few really poor moments late in games in particular. I think, like a few others in our squad, its going to be a matter of managing their fatigue going forward.

i cant help but feel Sorro outplayed Garner this series - granted he saw more minutes than Garner did

i think we may have understated losing Sorro - i think he outperformed Marto & Garner

He's just too old for the backrow fulltime. Should be seen as a prop only that can fill in if an injury happens mid game

Ok maybe not release, just want Patea Infront of him, but at least he can be Infront of Eisenhuth and do 15 -20 mins off the bench

I would keep Sorro. Garner whilst he has improved since becoming a Panther, has never had a 'big motor' where he can play 70-80 minutes and still be mostly effective.

Someone like Patea can only play prop. There are many back rowers in the comp who can only play backrow effectively. You can't stack a bench with 2-3 of these types without risk.

Sorro is still very useful on the bench because he is a player who can play both 2nd row and prop effectively. Ideally you'd want at least 1 of those types on the bench.

Get away with Sorro out wide against weaker sides in the regular season but by September we shouldn't be playing him there. Just too slow laterally

We have Papali who can do that.

I agree that he probably shouldn't be the starting second rower. But he is better filling in at 2nd row then an out and out prop is, or even a Lindsay Smith or Liam Henry who have both filled in at 2nd row and have been badly exposed there.
