The Dragons are making moves to bolster their backline with interest in signing former Queensland State of Origin winger Phillip Sami, while also pinching a talented Panther.
With the departure of wingers Corey Allen and Mikaele Ravalawa from their roster for next season, St George-Illawarra are on the hunt to replenish their outside backs.
Sami, who has been given permission to negotiate with rival clubs by the Gold Coast, has appeared on the Dragons radar.
The 28-year-old, who played two games for the Maroons during the 2020 State of Origin series, has featured in 142 NRL games and scored 71-tries.
He enjoyed a strong year in an otherwise poor 2025 season for the Gold Coast, chosen in 21-games and scoring 15-tries by playing both centre and wing.

Meanwhile, it can be revealed that the Dragons are in the middle of a 10-day cooling-off period to sign promising Penrith centre or winger, David Fale.
Fale has spent the past three seasons playing NSW Cup for Penrith where he has scored 22-tries in 43-games.
Belief that the powerful outside back can progress to the NRL was indicated by his first grade debut for the Panthers against the Bulldogs in round 26 this season.
Fale will push the likes of Matt Feagai, Christian Tuipolotu and Tyrell Sloan for a position on the Dragons wing in 2026.
