We've moved on: Gutherson, RCG, Sivo, Lane, Ofahengaue, Cartwright in the past 12 months and potentially Hands.
Possibly the difference is that they were replaced with NRL level players and in some instances , elite .
We went in the young and project players basically, yet still managed to have 29/30 players signed for 2026. That does limit options and there are comments that we are up against the cap unless Matto is off the books, chalk and cheese in a sense .

I expect him to be better next year, but if you thought he was passable this year and not last year, your cutoff must be between 81% and 82% effectiveness, because that was the difference between 2024 and ‘25 for Blaize Talagi. The other major difference was that this year he played in a team that could usually cover his mistakes. Last year he didn’t.
Wasn't last year his first in NRL? Big difference in Cup to NRL so comparing apples to oranges.

Braith has a chip on his shoulder just like he was as a player.

An insufferable prick and there was a reason he was ranked the most over rated player in the game for 4 or 5 years in a row most fans couldn't stand the smug prick.

Ill throw in the Fox producers love him for that reason. Is that he is out there and one of the reasons he is now the main host of a lot of shows and probably 2nd highest paid behind Matty Johns.

Ill say this at least they got him off the commentary.

His commentary on Fox back in the day was worse then Ennis.
Ennis to Manly? as assistant so won't hear his droning on any more, thank f**k!

The comment was in regards to the roosters and bulldogs moving players on with ease inferring that we or other clubs can't, nothing to do with their abilities. We've moved on 6-7 top 30 players in the past 12 months.

Whether they're elite players or young/project players 1 player takes up 1 spot in the top 30.

Does anyone with information actually know if we are keen on Pezet? It’s all speculation as far as I can see.

I do not want to let Lomax go, I think him and Fox are both important moving forward.

If we want Pezet I’d be interested to know if true.

The issue perhaps is we moved on players with what we are told had decent sized contracts, and yet by signing projects we still seem to be close to the cap and roster size. Sure we signed Lomax, but that was done prior or the releases.

Anyway, let’s trust good coaching provides the impetus, interesting next few months.

Has anyone seen that interview Matty Johns gives about the 97 GF?
The interviewer is Ray Hadley unfortunately, but Matty is a great interview. He tells of him and Joey studying the game for years in the jnrs and noticing little things one of which ultimately led to that possibly greatest of all time heads up play by Joey on full time. Very cool. I dont think that play happens in todays game.

Nathan Cleary 2021 Prelim

Look up the kick he did for Critta that day to score in the 2nd min and how they came up with it.

They won 10-6 was a genius play.

I’ll have a look. That does sound like it is off script. Moses comes up with plenty of good heads up stuff. It is still around but just in way less supply.
I feel like almost every play was sort of 50% heads up in the 80s/90s.

Moses misses out on the Kangaroo Tour (though i think he'll probably play the PM XIII)

Shame because on a rep level he deserves it over Cleary but was never going to happen.

Good for the Eels though that he'll get a full pre-season with Joash/Ryley/Talyn to work on combinations..

Kangaroos players by club

  • Panthers: Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Lindsay Smith, Dylan Edwards (4)
  • Broncos: Patrick Carrigan, Reece Walsh, Kotoni Staggs (3)
  • Storm: Harry Grant, Cameron Munster, Xavier Coates (3)
  • Roosters: Angus Crichton, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Lindsay Collins (3)
  • Raiders: Hudson Young, Ethan Strange (2)
  • Cowboys: Tom Dearden, Reuben Cotter (2)
  • Sharks: Blake Brailey (1)
  • Titans: Tino Fa’asuamaleaui (1)
  • Bulldogs: Jacob Preston (1)
  • Eels: Zac Lomax (1)
  • Knights: Bradman Best (1)
  • Rabbitohs: Keaon Koloamatangi (1)

Did someone forget to pay the Temu Bills today because the Commbank servers broke down.

FFS what a circus of a day

First Commbank crashing down then LU came crashing down as well.

Has anyone checked the stock markets yet after this debacle.

I would have picked Moses ahead of Dearden, but agree that it is a better outcome for the Eels.
