He was in superior sides at origin and still lost so I’m not sure that the argument about him dominating because he’s in superior teams fully explains that phenomenon.

It's just a small sample. 17 games is less than a full season of NRL games. In truth, every player should have an Origin record of about 50%. 47% isn't significantly different from 50%

The 2020 and 2025 NSW teams had far better players than their QLD counterparts. Both very bad losses for NSW.

it’s a consensus view that NSW had superior sides in those series (on paper at least). Which teams would have been worth more if you added up their salaries and compared them? I bet NSW would have been worth significantly more.

The biggest question should be. If Moses was coached under Ivan and Nathan was coached under BA who would be the better player? There is no doubt Cleary is superior now. I put it down to coaching but. Moses has had useless coaches.

Cleary played almost 60 games and played Origin before his dad ever coached him. His first three seasons were under Griffin and Ciraldo.

I recokn there is also that mental trait where he would watch and study every aspect of the game.

I disagree. It just happens to be the best sample we might have. It doesn't mean it's statistically significant. That's why players are picked based on club form, not Origin form.
