Yeah, that’s fair. Few people a bit scarred by his past history of being injured playing in rep teams.

That's also fair and understandable.

But we aren't going to win anything without elite talent. Rep selection is a place elite talent goes to sharpen their skills.

Do we wanna win comps or do we wanna win Saturday afternoon at kograh?

The point is rosters get turned over when they don't perform. We did it after 2013 (5 wins), we did it after 2018 (6 wins) and we did it after 2024 (7 wins). In another five/six years we will probably do it again. Rebuilding is a natural part of the salary cap cycle, whether you change the coach or not.

You shouldn't need to have a rebuild every 6 seasons.. If you are smart with your cap and player development/ recruitment you should be able to keep a competitive side..
Buy you need to have the right ght people at the club and money in the right places..

I see nothing but potential injury. Interestingly, since Moses has contributed to winning sides in origin / Australia we have failed to make the top 8.

We might not have made the eight but mitches confidence and experience has benefited immensely.

Yes. Me.

Id like him to prioritise a pre season with the club that pays him $1.3mil a year making him approximately the 3rd highest player in Rugby League.

And I want him on the training paddock with Munster, Walsh, Cleary, Grant, Dearden, Yeo, Strange etc

Guys like hopgood, Williams, the fox can set the standard for guys like latu and petrus to follow in the early weeks of the preseason.

I want Mitch hanging around learning and growing with the elite players of the game. As we saw last night, to get past Penrith and the storm you need to have the absolute elite players in your squad. Mitch doesn't become elite at Kellyville, he become elite in the company of the best.

Mitch and Lomax then can bring the standards they learn in the Aus side back to the Eels squad as well..

I can feel it in my bones. Somethings building.
Storm and Panthers have 2026 but afterwards both will decline. Dogs will face cap pressure and Brisbane wont have Hunt or Reynolds.
Sometimes winning a comp is about timing rather then being the best. Our 2027 will be explosive barring injuries
Will Moses still be a great player in 2027?

I guess that's the biggest negative with Mitch being selected to play these rep games.

And it's a valid point.

Reece Walsh says "hold my beer!"

It was individually the best performance I have seen in a grand final.
He dead set saved 4 tries, scored one set up the rest. He was worth about 50 points and thats not exagerrating.
Good on the kid. He maybe a dickhead but is my favourite player to watch.

I see both positives and negatives with Moses being picked. Positives are that personally it would be a goal to be picked for Australia, training amongst those players is always good, and he'll likely only play 1 game with cleary and munster to probably be picked in the starting 13 in 2 of the 3 games.

The negatives are there is a chance of injury in these games, and he won't be able to do a full pre-season which leads to a higher chance of injury during the season. With Iongi and Papalii possibly being picked for Tonga and Samoa respectively it was unlikely that all the spine was going to be at pre-season training come the 1st week of November anyway.

Personally I would have preferred Moses to have not been selected as I think he sets the expectation around the squad early in the pre-season. Hopefully we get enough of that with the experienced players not picked in rep squads
