I don’t think there will ever be a long lasting fix on the Israel-Palestine conflict, just periods of greater stability.

Yeah, I don't disagree, the only potential long term fixes are either the two state solution, or a single non ethno-religious state, neither of which seem likely

Ignoring of course the third option of the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and the West bank, which is well on it's way at present.

Yeah. I'd love to see a two state solution but it has failed to materialise to date, just like a one state solution has failed.

Also agree that ethnic cleansing is occurring and I have issues with the fact that the US is enabling and supporting this approach.

The Israel lobby groups are strong and Trump is clearly worried about damaging the US-Israel relationship.

He says he wants to stop a war but the proof is in the pudding.
