Do you understand that an average NRL halfback is a guy that plays in the NRL consistently without being a star. If that isnt chd townsend then there are no average nrl halfbacks.
Do you understand that average players don’t play 250+ games in the NRL.

There are plenty of average HB getting around, but the Chad ain’t one. Either are Hornby, Orford or Pearce for that matter.

They were all good halves

I think you need at least 2 attacking stars in the spine to win a comp in most years. We cheated the system with Yeo being a generational talent unlike any other lock in the sport

Games played doesnt mean he wasnt average. Anyone who isnt playing consistent NRL isnt even in the converstaion. There are the stars and the superstars. Then there are the average, then there are the below average who are lucky to be there for few games , players who are really just depth players(reserve graders and journeyment).

Jackson Hastings, Sean O’Sullivan, Tim Smith all average players. These are average Halves… Luke Walsh is another

The players you listed are all above them.

Chad's peak was getting hooked in a final.

Every contract since 2016 should have had a clause paying 50% to Jimmy.

If you look at The Chads body of work there is a lot more plod than anything else, he was pretty hyped as a kid and got a lot of games off the back off that, then road Maloneys coat tails to a premiership and got a heap more contracts and games off that as well. Average is actually talking him up imo. There is a few really good games in there, but percentage wise it would be on par with Adrian Purtell.

We now live or die on Nathan so what's the point of a 7 on the bench? This blind spot of Ivan's cost us the Brisbane game and I'm REALLY hoping he learned from that.
We need a Salmon,Mann, Crossland type 14

Have you rewatched the second half of the prelim final though? We didn’t lose that game because we had Schneider on the bench.

And we wouldn’t have won even if we had Salmon or Mann on the bench instead.

We needed a player capable of spelling a forward. Ivan could have moved Kenny into the pack but maybe even he knows Schneider is too shit.
We were easily outclassing them, the weeks rest was a big factor but no bigger than playing 15 men v 17

The way I see it, the fatigue became a factor when Soro went off so early. Now the bench was effectively two and the opposition had just had a week off. It dulled our forward impact and we were hanging on at the end.

No shame there. Next year Henry, McLean and Talagi will have improved physically and will have learned a lot this year. Alamoti and Henry have just hit the 50 game mark and should be better and more consistent.

I can see us improving, the Broncos have an ageing hooker and half back. I can see them regressing next year. The Storm just don't have the forwards when it counts.

Well, everyone is entitled to have their opinion on the Chad, there is no doubt he’s a polarising character, but he played 250 NRL games and Jimmy Maloney said that he’s one of the smartest players he played with.

Not sure how that qualifies as average, but each to their own.

Experience is key.

What happened to any more signings being announced other than Cogger. Surely we need a few more squad fillers since we had a clean out of sorts.

Maybe they are going to announce one each day?
Still have Ale and Crosby to announce. Hopefully someone else we don't know about.
