Read it again champ. I'm saying there isn't much you can do about Accor's location unless you want to abandon the site and build a new stadium elsewhere (which they won't). You just make do with what's there.

Not enough to believe Sydney’s biggest stadium should be limited to a 70,000 capacity lmao.

If you have budget of let's say $3 billion to spend on a new stadium. With that money you can either build a basic 80-90k stadium that will do the job but won't be anything special, or you can build a 60-70k stadium that's a much better experience for spectators but obviously comes with a lower capacity.

My opinion is that a stadium of around 70k would be sufficient enough and the focus should be on the overall spectator experience so it doesn't become a ghost town like Accor has. It needs to be a place that people want to come and watch the footy.

If the NSW government wants to spend money to make sure both areas are covered, then that's awesome, but I want the experience to come before how many seats it has. Pretty simple stuff really.

You just need stands that are steep so fans are close to the action

Suncorp set the benchmark then commbank and Allianz followed

Lots of toilets and food places

Good members facilities

And ideally be on a train or metro line

A 70k stadium won’t get a billion bucks extra on “fancy stuff” it will just cost less than a 100k stadium

There is zero chance In the world they tear down Accor to build something smaller

I think Accor could stay as is for 20 years it does the job it’s supposed too

We’ve got Allianz and commbank which are god tier for smaller events

Sofi stadium in LA is 70k and it’s unreal. Shows you don’t need to have 80-100k stadiums for massive sports. In fact most nfl stadiums are around 60k. m pretty sure same with the EPL.

Yes it would. Majority of NFL stadiums are around the 60k-75k mark. There's only 5 NFL stadiums larger than 75k with Metlife Stadium the largest at 82.5k. In fact Buffalo are downsizing from 70k to 62k in their new stadium.

75k with a 40k club mode would be unreal, where the lower tiers hold 40k and the upper 35k which can be closed off for regular club games. Dogs, Tigers can play there.

Accor isn’t a stadium priority for the nrl

Canberra is the most urgent

Followed by Newcastle brookvale suncorp and gong

Manly get sellouts just about every week

I guess it's a good thing that these stadiums are in different jurisdictions from a funding perspective so we don't have to do them one at a time.

Newcastle is of course in NSW but can be pushed separately as regional investment.

I really hope after a record TV deal St Peter makes it his personal mission to get us incredible stadia for all clubs.

Pvl is judged by a very high standard he sets but he totally stuffed up the stadium situation in Brisbane

NSW govt have been good for stadia and coe though none of that is due to Pvl

All I said is to put the spectator experience before capacity. Not sure how many times I need to keep repeating that. If you actually cared to read and comprehend that instead of trying to pick a fight, you would have seen multiple times that I said I'm content with a bigger capacity, provided the experience is top notch. 100k is just unrealistic and unnecessary though.

Regarding the NFL. it is one of the biggest sports competitions in the world and these new stadiums they are building are levels over anything we have in the NRL or AFL. If you're building the main stadium of NSW, why wouldn't you take ideas from them to improve what you're building.

I'd say it's too late but hopefully he keeps pestering the QLD government about their plan to upgrade Suncorp Stadium. I'm curious what upgrades they have in mind for that.
