Rumours and Stuff

Apparently, Anasta confirmed the deal on the radio, saying Parra offered a multi-year deal that was significantly more money than Brisbane offered. Jonah still decided to go to the Broncos due to their pitch.

So effectively, we got a player for a year who took less money to buy into another club because he didn't see Parra as his future. This club can be a joke sometimes.
It’s very exciting.

I just dont fully understand the ethos of what Ryles wants to do with pezet. Preface that I think Ryles did good this year. However this season we didnt start players who we didnt think had a future at the club but we're willing to sign a halfback whos solid at best currently? but also a bit of an unknown at 6 and hasnt had regular first grade footie.

However we think he can elevate us into the top8 but this kid isnt part of our future. You could argue we could do that with volkman/joash/lorenzo if moses stayed healthy (end of season run showed we can beat good teams). So although pezet is probably better than our current options but are we that much better with him? Instead we could be building a potential long term partnership with someon currently on the roster?

If we get pezet for the 300-400k mark - ok maybe its worth a punt otherwise what are we really doing...
I don’t think the cash is the issue if we have plenty of space.

Hughes or Munster.....
If they really rate Pezet highly they would of loaned him out like Harry Grant style. And if he shined let one of Munster/Hughes go. It's isnt like they wouldnt have any buyers.
Yes, that's possible. But it sounds like Pezet (and Anasta) wanted more security than a one-year loan deal.

Yeh probably not but like the biggest allure of pezet is his potential. In 3 years imo hell be much bettwr than volkman and co but right now is he really that much better for us to not just try the combos we have and bolster our other roster spots? Center, backrow, prop or a 6 who is more ready now instead of pezet whos pretty raw still. Anyways if it happens then hey ill cheer us on and the one year loan of pezet as hes an eel but its slightly xonfusing

From what I’ve seen of both, Pezet has more upside than Volkman (obviously) and would at the very least be level pegging with him right now.

He provides cover for Moses, especially if Footy Dean is on his way to SL.

I’m not convinced he’s going to be elite. Broncos supporting mates of mine are a mix between excited, to a few of them calling him Brodie Croft Mk II.

They couldn’t loan him out he had a clause which he enacted because Hughes kicked on and is still sublime.

Nothing to do with Melbourne not ratings him, which they do, highly.

Tim Smith, Ash Taylor,D.Brown all were amazing at age 20 as well.
And I never said he isn't going to be a very good player. D.Brown is a very good player but still at the age of 20 I thought he was a generational talent.
I said im not convinced he is a "generational talent"
The next Moses,Grant,Munster,Cleary etc. That's generational talent.
Moses a generational talent? Please.

Once Hughes re signed, Pezet was on the open market. So they couldn’t loan him out if he wasn’t on contract due to his clauses.

Everyone goes to the Broncos ‘for less money’. It’s where the term Bronco dollars comes from.

As much as Panthers are my 2nd team too you have to be objective and admit on sheer raw halfback talent Moses is streets ahead of Cleary.

Cleary is a generational "systems" player whereas Moses is an all-round deadset 7 with speed, deception and change of pace.

We're watching NRL in an era where systems have eliminated pure raw talent in most positions, it's all about height, speed and endurance with the game narrowed down to left and right side players, everyone in their lane and Cleary is the greatest halfback of this new era.

But on historic rugby league metrics Moses is a generational player. Our hope is that Ryles and co can form the system to allow his elite talent to bring us a premiership in 2026.

I'm 100% on board the Pezet bus.

If he's on our bus in 2026 we have an elite spine with TDS/Smith, Moses, Pezet and Iongi plus Lomax and JAC on the wings.
