This allows the supposedly weaker teams to try not to give up the score and to avoid too big gaps and also when a match is close it allows both teams to make the extra effort either offensively for the team in front of the score or defensively for the team behind and to give more intense and suspenseful ends to the matches
Would there be an appetite to tighten the gap from 12? To 10 maybe, so it’s less than 2 converted tries?

Round 6 results, another round with tight score (+7 / +4 golden point / +6 / +6)
First game with Lézignan for Konrad Hurrell

Some highlight:

I always enjoyed the bonus point when it was used outside of the Super League. I thought it worked reasonably well.

Is there still a Magic Weekend in France where teams get 3 points for a win instead of 2?

No Magic Round,
22 rounds, each team meet all others home and away.
The first 6 qualified for finals games,
First round 3rd vs 6th / 4th vs 5th losers out
Semi final 1st vs 4th or 5th / 2nd vs 3rd or 6th
Grand final

Ah, that’s a shame.

Simple format, as Super League should be.

Why are you against a legitimate competition?

Rugby League isn’t a ‘legitimate’ competition. In Super League, we’ve had an unbalanced fixture list for all but 2-3 seasons, the NRL certainly doesn’t either, so one round in France where teams play for different points is, at the very least, interesting.

I can’t have a reasonable conversation with somebody claiming that the NRL competition isn’t a legitimate competition. I’m not arguing for the fallacy of “fair draws” but there is absolutely no integrity in a competition where certain games are worth more competition points than other games for any reason whatsoever.

How is there integrity in unbalanced fixture lists? We also have the fallacy of Golden Point, which makes for good viewing but is utter nonsense from a sporting aspect.

We’ve also had bonus points in England, in the lower leagues, for teams who kept opponents to a margin of 12 or fewer.

I’ve already said that I don’t feel we’re able to have a reasonable conversation, and your latest post have only reinforced that. There’s little value in continuing this discussion.

To keep things respectful, I’m stepping away from the conversation. Further to that, I’m now ignoring your post as well.
