The 'overprepared' line by mccullum reminds me of when I thought I'd written a shit-hot paper for uni and barely passed. Only they've failed miserably here.

Years of planning down the drain & probably a feeling they'd at least win one of the tests Cummins & Haze were out for.

Eat shit. Hopefully some of the crabby old bastards that were in the long room at Lords have seen the result.

For all the crap McCullum has dished out during his tenure as head coach (and yes, he should definitely be sacked in the aftermath of this Ashes series), someone in the English cricketing setup that has flown under the radar and not come under much scrutiny throughout this whole shitshow down under is Rob Key.

When you've got someone like Rob as the managing director of the national cricket team, there's going to be inevitable problems. Yet another one of the myriad of Poms from his generation who scored thousands of runs in county cricket, but bombed out at test match level when given the opportunity. The same Rob Key who, much to the chagrin of county players and also former teammates such as Alec Stewart, thinks it's absolutely great to see high-scoring drawn matches in county cricket played on flat pitches with a Kookaburra ball, giving The Hundred tournament an exclusive window in the English cricket season (i.e. no tests/county matches played during it).....this is where a lot of things start to go wrong

How good was that?

We were far below our best and still stomped these guys 3-0. Would love us to make it 5-0.

Very pleased I got a chance to go to Adelaide day 1. I'd recommend the ground to anyone who has thoughts about going for the test next summer. Maybe the best ground I've watched cricket at in Australia.

I thought yesterday that we would lose. It just had that aura about it. In the first session today, I was certain we were going to get done. But they play such dumb cricket, they threw that game away.

Cummins in doubt for the Boxing Day Test:

This is an opportunity.

Boland 100% plays. Starc 99% too.

Doggett could come in. But I'd just debut Fergus O'Neil on home turf.

The Ashes is won. If injuries happen then we need to push the fresh faces. I won't be upset to see Doggett but we've got other options too.
