That 2010-11 ashes series, I Remember picking Doug Bollinger (replacement for Rhyno) for the Adelaide test, and he hardly had any matches under his belt for weeks. Was struggling to hit 125km. I cant remember an opening fast bowler looking as unfit as Dougie was that test. And that was his last test for Australia...

Yeah, Dougie was very unlucky. Very good fast bowler who was the scapegoat in the aftermath of that first of three innings defeats Australia copped during that Ashes series.

Andrew Hilditch et al. on the selection panel are responsible for Dougie's lack of match practice in the lead up to that Adelaide test

Another one...

The 2023 4 test tour to India

First test Feb 9

Most of the test players played a few weeks of BBL as the only preparation

We got considerably better after being belted in the 1st test, that india made a road for the 4th test to assure they win the series 2-1. A real opportunity lost

Leave poor Dougie alone

He wasnt there for the 1/517 declared the week before at the Gabba when Mitchell Johnson was landing them at Suncorp Stadium and Hilfy was turning himself into a 120km/h bowler who couldnt swing it.

Oh and Xavier Doherty was picked to expose KP who was batting at 4 cause he had a supposed weakeness against Left armers.

We found the weaknees in KP's ego that day just didnt let him have a hit.

On that 10/11 team the Grade Cricketer brought up on the show last week

That the english media said 6 months ago only 2 of the top 7 would make the current side

Cook and KP

While Ben Stokes basically said Cook and Trott wouldnt be good enough for the current regime.

Amazing how much shit that gets covered up comes out in the aftermath

SMH reporting Harry Brook got into a drunken altercaltion with a bouncer in Wellington a night before an ODI which he was captain and they got flogged in that game on the pre ashes white ball tour of NZ in October.

ECB fined him $60k AUD but only telling the world now

Harry Brook still hasn't learnt his lesson.

He keeps trying to hook every bouncer!

I remember last summer they were at a test, BBL… can’t remember which, but they were discussing England. It came to Crawley and Mark Waugh scoffed. There was discussion and Junior was like “…with a text average of 30!?! That’ll do me.” That was 12 months ago and the writing was on the wall Bazball wouldn’t work here and the players weren’t good enough.

Howie is on fire at my old club, mind you, he's playing 4th grade bush cricket.

That pitch that he is playing on is a synthetic surface with about 30 metre boundaries.

Hey man...those of us who are Masters aged, broken, and want to both have a beer through the day without being banned for 10 matches and also not pay $800 in subs are very grateful for all grades of bush cricket
