What an embarrassing video this is for further badly needed infrastructure in Sydney.
Crowing about building one railway station. lol. The press conference is shameful.
I'm sure I do not need to remind anyone the enormous amount of infrastructure planned and built under the previous govt, and the unfinished works of that planning reluctantly being completed by this govt, who no doubt will claim credit when it is completed.

I think Suity highlights incompetence no matter which party is in charge.
But he fails to realise that the people doing the planning - under either party - are Departmental employees, not the MPs or Ministers themselves. So the people that do all the infrastructure planning are by and large the same, regardless of which party is in charge.

Sure, they have to work within the budget decisions and instructions of the government of the day, and those instructions change depending on the economic circumstances the party in charge finds itself in. But Suity seems to always just want to blame one side - he even dug up a post from nine days ago to give himself a chance to do it 😂

Public Service incompetence is not limited to the government of the day... incompetent decision making is however.

I have no skin in this game, it's not on my doorstep, I won't use it and what happens 1km over there doesn't impact me.

However I said at the time of it's announcement that I wonder what the cost benefit is ? I get that downsizers and upwardly mobile couples will buy new apartments for $3m+++ AND that will mean that they don't buy in other suburbs that typically attracts that market. So there will be a flow on effect of sorts.

I see the budget is $200m, that sounds cheap. Maybe it's worth it ?

It certainly won't scratch the surface on housing affordability or free up properties for first home buyers.

As for an under utilized line, my 8:20am from BJ this morning was standing room only. Maybe that's a frequency issue.

The Premier said this is a piece of the puzzle and merkins should not look at this as being the silver bullet. Fair.

That was a bit of a meaningless ramble. I think I am still on the fence, but leaning towards a position that the opening of Woollahra Station was inevitable. I mean, it's half built already.

Hopefully a freshly cooked piece or gold band snapper and chips won't cost me a new mortgage.

Hopefully a reverse. More traffic and eating options should make things more competitive and that might bring costs down. In saying that they probably are slugging them to far more rent for premisses.
