I reckon this is a good signing for them. We have pretty good outside back depth so we can live with this but if we lose Bula he could be one of the guys who could slot into the 1 position.
Sad to see this guy go because he really hasn't had a fair go of showing what he can do in the NRL.
Good luck Luke.

It's a bit sad, but we can't expect the kid to hang around as a depth winger when he could compete for a fullback spot at the Bears.

Shame to see Luke go, but I'd think he's probably stuck behind a couple of blokes now. Has had some head knocks already too which probably isn't crash hot for his age.

There seems to be So much love for the shall we say less than stellar players when they leave the club and the oppositte for the guns that leave ..obviously some deserve the shit they get from us on departure, coz of the way they carry on..I wonder if over the years we’ve been pummelled into empathising types. We understand misfortune..I could be wrong but it’s everywhere. I mean I don’t understand the melancholy of this non event (LL) leaving the club, or why he was signed by Perth, apart from that first run/ try on debut. Also I suppose like Brooke’s, he looks like a harmless nice little fella. But he might not be. I’d wonder if easts had the same sentiments

Players try to do the best thing for their careers and I can't fault them for that. I liked watching him play but seems a fair way down the pecking order now.

Is a player signs to leave but

(a) does the right thing by his contract.
(b) doesn't disrespect the club.

then Im okay with them. The way Moses and Tedesco left the club were totally different. I could not blame Tedesco for leaving and he played a decent stint at the Tigers. Moses was and still is a whiny bitch.

Agree.
I think some may not have followed Luke through pathways and don't realise what an awesome player he is. You don't make captain in a Matts grand final win either unless you've got something to offer.
I just hate how we keep losing players that we spend so much time developing, a problem shared by most clubs.

In the situation Luke is in, Im okay with letting him go. He has a few players in front of him now and he has the opportunity for 1 first grade position and foundation club player. It is better than what we can offer him career-wise.

Absolutely. The only way to solve this problem right across the NRL and internationally is to have an apprenticeship system.
This way, youngins have time to develop properly without being paid 700k+ on potential.
Also it sorts out the men from the boys both with talent and physicality alike.

Regardless of what he did previously he sucked at NRL level..he wasn’t even a blimp on the radar ..hopefully the weather and the relaxed vibe of Perth transforms him but I’m not holding my breath

I have to agree with you there. To me, he just does not seem quite an NRL standard player. I do hope Im wrong and he is successful in Perth.

He showed a wonderful set of skills when he debuted but he got knocked into Disney Land and hasn't had another opportunity to strut his stuff.
I'm hoping he nails it in Perth, just not against us 😁

I like to see our juniors do well....even at other clubs (with a few exceptions ;) )

Yes he seemed to have a genuine disliking for our club and also the supporters, the feeling is mutual.
Yep, Tigers had him groomed to be the next Wayne Pearce at one point....they gave him his opportunity and he left at the first opportunity instead of paying us back. I went to his page a while back. In his favourite sporting teams page, he liked every team he played for except one. No prizes for guess which team that was.
