Week 2 Trial Vs Tigers

The fact that the kid didn't go off for a HIA should play into out hands. Should be easy to argue their was no forceful contact with the head, they can't have it both ways.

That with the fact he dropped before being tackled. Either way whatever they decide needs to be standard for the season. You watch in two weeks the same thing will be a different grading.

Ash klein wasnt there to save the broncos in the world club challenege so hes trying to give them a leg up in rd 1.Firstly there was no direct contact with the head,it was shoulder on shoulder.2ndly the tigers player didnt go off for a hia as the rules state if you get hit in thr head.So i would fight it for sure.

It's the bunker who calls that not Klein.

The only problem I have with challenging is. Clubs lately, have seldom tasted success at the judiciary.
Last year we failed with Sorensen's BS Grade 2. The mitigating factor from memory was the attacking player, not the defender. Yet our argument failed and he got suspended for 3 weeks.

The NRL have backed themselves into a corner with a crack down of shoulder charges. Common sense goes out the window sometimes. They can't be seen backing down. They never admit they are wrong. Even if there are mitigating circumstances.

Best player in the game (no doubt) so who better to make an example of the league’s desire for a hard line stance on dangerous play.

I think it’s winnable, I’m yet to see an angle where he made any decent contact with his head. I assume the independent doctor didn’t either. So it’s safe to assume there isn’t a mystery piece of footage somewhere.

Nathan wrapped his arms.

The kid dropped.

I think the NRL will want Nathan to play, not that they have a say (or so the story goes).

I was very critical at the time of Nathan, but the more I watch it, it’s not as crazy as I first thought, he does plant his feet and tries to make a normal tackle.

I think it should be challenged, but I fear it will be a waste of time.

Roll the dice he'll only miss the easy Roosters game if he loses.

I am 74 and EVERY week wonder why contentious decisions when replayed are not zeroed in and magnified so that we can all see exactly what happened. I have watched the replay of the Cleary incident several times and not sure either way whether the tackle was illegal.

On a separate matter Milky was close to our best and I really liked Milky and Alamoti attacking our bombs. Interesting selection for round 1 Milky or Tago. Also some of the criticism of our first trial was a bit over the top. We dropped the ball several times but when our better players were on the field our defence was pretty good except the Makisini try. Also we had little ball.

Tago was awful, if this was a genuine trial he’d be starting the year in reserve grade.

I’d have PA and Casey in the centres with Bizza and Milky outside them.

I’m normally a big defender of Tago, but he was really poor tonight, whereas I thought PA and Milky looked quite good, especially for a trial.

Dyl looked very rusty, even caught out of position a few times.

I was happy with Mose, played pretty big minutes and looked fit.

other that, let’s hope the MRC are lind
I can't argue with your summation Luke. Hopefully for Dyl it was just rust. Tago is a dilemma. On his day can be a wonderful defender and attacker. Something obviously just isn't right within him ATM. Sadly I think Ivan will stick with him at this stage.
How do you think gets no 14 role, is it Billy Phillips ? or someone else.

Looking forward to the season starting next weekend. Not happy about Nathan's ban.....will he go for a downgrade.....will that mean extra weeks if he looses it. Because traditionally Penrith haven't done well at the MRC.........often being convicted and minds made up even before the MRC meeting starts at headquarters.

If they have such footage, shouldn't they be sharing it with the club so a properly informed decision can be made?

Makasini is bloody scary.

Edwards should just let him score to be honest. He'll get broke in half.
5mins later Makasini runs straight over Edwards to score
I'd bring back the shoulder charge in the NRL just to stop Makasini. Maybe after 3 or 4 consecutive shoulder charges he might get tired.
5mins later Nathan shoulder charges Makasini in the head

Who the hell is this Fangs bloke? Nostradamus?

lotto numbers Fang?

Not sure about the lotto numbers but I'm quite certain the Tigers will get the spoon this year.
