The big worry coming from this performance is where does the improvement come from? Early on there were some decent signs with ball in hand, but lots of ball movement makes for a high risk, (potentially) high reward game. And when it goes to shit, you end up with a completion rate like we had.

The go-forward was just shocking, essentially non-existent. Edges were also ordinary, Kautoga is in the bottom handful of back-rowers in the game

Looks like a long season ahead.

Agree with this, thought Ryley was really poor in his first stint (when it mattered). f**k all clean ball to Moses.

We need to be building for the future. Pezet isnt our future. Get my boy lorenzo in there and time to develop and work on his combo with moses.

This game was like no gameplan and the players dictated what they wanted to do. A bit like '09 against Saints last game of year.
But I doubt it.

Ryles has a lot to do with tonight's performance, he wants to play this style that requires a lot of cohesion and a lot of ball movement.

They need to find balance between the short pass/offload and the tuck and run

So many errors were also from loose carries as well though. The way we beat brisbane last year is the blueprint for eels success if they want to make top 8.

Agree too. That was the worst game I've seen from him. I was wondering if Harry Grant praising him after last year's opening game rattled him and he overplayed his hand.
