3-2-1 v Roosters

Penalty count: 18-7. ( at one stage 11-2) Shouldn't referee's and the bunker adjudicate both sides? Would be nice.
This sort of thing really annoys me. The Roosters were an absolutely ill-disciplined rabble on Friday. They threw tantrums, tried to take shortcuts, they deserved all they copped. The old Ricky Stuart 'penalty count is lopsided therefore my team must have been dudded' is absolute rubbish.

It's a thing to be more disciplined than the opposition.

Not at all. The blatant mistake by the bunker in the first half is an example. And being on the wrong end of two "close "no try" decisions didn't help either.
Which mistake? And none of those 'close' ones you talked about were tries.

If the boot was on the other foot, you would be whinging too.

It was a Roosters, Captains challenge in the first half, that the ref and bunker got wrong. I have nothing against the NZ Warriors, on the day, they were the better side, but as with previous seasons, we were on the wrong end of a lop-sided penalty count and some close decisions that could have gone either way. Ill disciplined my arse!

come back to us when the refs acknowledged they made a mistake after the game like they do 5 or 6 times a season with us. I would bet money that the Warriors have copped way more negligence over the years from refs than the Roosters.

Respectfully, I wouldn't. It is one of my league hobby horses that lopsided penalty count means nothing. Unless someone is prepared to analyse the merits of all 25 penalties, there's no basis for criticism.

Penalty counts are not meant to be even. It's much more nuanced than that.

And I disagree that the Bunker and ref got the captain's challenge wrong.

I hope for your sake your team doesn't think like you, that they weren't ill-disciplined. Every single report and thing I've read said they were. Walker was carrying on like a baby all game.

All jokes about Ford aside....I'm not sure what the usual distribution of scores is, but 3/16 posters picked him as MOTM, and 6/16 didn't give him a point at all....strikes me as evidence of a week where the points were understandably well spread.

I would have actually given him MoM, I feel like he was the best player on the ground...but the fact a No.7 gets to have more influence, I had reasonably low hopes for Boyd and he smashed them out of the park, that made me vote for him.

I agree 6 Dally M votes was the right call for Ford. He was a beast. I dunno if it's how it's always been, but watching Ford at the ground gave me a whole new appreciation for what a machine he is.

Just to jump in here (late), we often get the boot on the other foot.

But answer why Angus never went to the bin for the challenge on Boyd after kicking and there had been a warning about the number of infringements in a row? Let alone these challenges can result in a sin bin often when its not a Warriors player kicking.

Yeah see that's a good point, too. 18-7 penalty count and not one binning.

The captain's challenge, Capewell clearly makes contact around the shoulder and bicep. Just because you feel you're owed penalties based on the count, doesn't mean you are

Walker got done too, late in the game
In my defense my daughter had decided she wanted to go home by then, because her sister was watching movies at her granma's house and she didn't want to miss out.

While Dad is doing everything to drag her out 10 minutes more to see the fulltime whistle

I was watching the game from a bar in Fiji with an Aussie who wouldn't stop going on about the old days
