6 man bench is our friend.
Great win setup in the first half, and held our nerve in the 2nd.
I thought we were in trouble when Manly scored early in the 2nd.
Best defence is a good offence.

That was a great win! Our footy is so nice to watch as well. Not many errors, plenty of support play.

Easy fellas, we won our first 2 last year as well..😂

In all seriousness though what a difference just a bit of common sense coaching makes. Players in support, contesting attacking kicks, not capitulating after injuries. Good signs and hopefully it's only a couple of weeks for Ponga and Brown.

For sure, but the manner in which we did so couldn't be further away. We weren't convincing in the slightest last year. We look like a completely new team this year. The optimism isn't unwarrented. I can't see us getting the spoon this year anymore and that was well within my window of possibilities before a ball was kicked this year.

Haha yeah I was just taking the piss, the difference in intent and competence is visible already.

Positive football. God we've been begging for it for years. AOB-ball is negative footy and it's old fashioned.
I don't want to keep going on about the AOB era and how much better things seem to be now (as obviously true as it may be), but I had to smile to myself during the game. I was watching Ch9, and on a few occasions the other commentators would comment that the Knights look a much better team this year, or they'd comment that last year we had the worst attack in the comp, ect. All the while, Gus was also in commentary, sitting right there with them. Saying nothing. Having had recruited the 'master coach' in the off-season.

Made me smile..!

It’s pretty incredible to think we might actually have genuine depth - something that didn’t look likely at the start of the year.

Harrison Graham did a fantastic job filling in today, and having Sandon at the club in a situation like this feels like a luxury and Pheen being able to slot in when needed with injuries is incredibly handy even if it's not ideal.

NSW Cup has also been piling on the points in both games. ESL and Hopwood have looked a class above at that level, and Manuleleua tore them apart in Round 1.

We were fortunate that the two injuries occurred before halftime- would have been screwed if it happened in the second half and Holbrook had already used his another one or two bench players.
