He's not going to break the bank is he. Would seem he is being bought for physicality to give the younger forwards a push towards the next level on that front.

Biggest issue with Kayln in the eyes of most fans is his durability, especially over the last few years. Hes only cracked 20 games once in the last 5 years, last year being the worst with only 13 games. Its a tough pill to swallow when the club is paying him $1.3+ a year.

Its clear he wants success here but I can also understand the growing chorus to let him move on
And 2 rounds in hes injured

Tough to enjoy it when our 2 best players just picked up what look to be long term injuries

We cant have nice things
Hard to say when with Kalyns injury, but they'll be back. We saw something much more important today - that we're a completely different footy team with a real coach at the helm, and that our depth is up to the job. Enjoy it - we're closer to good times than we've been in half a decade.

We're a lot better placed to deal with these injuries than we ever have been.

Sharpe back next week
Graham was fantastic at dummy half
Peen played in the halves with his usual energy
And sandon played really, really well

Maybe but i remain less convinced

We have come up against probably the 2 weakest middles in the comp so far and Im really worried about our pack against teams with good forwards

Jesus Christ, if you can’t be happy after today’s effort you should give up. There’s nothing wrong with the Cowboys or Manly’s packs. The effort we put in after KP and Brown’s injuries went down was immense. Best I’ve seen from the Knights in years.

lol ok mate

This forum sometimes. Most were cutting their wrists after the trials and I was called out for daring to be positive. We win 2 games against opposition who were anything but great and now I'm being slated for not being positive enough.

Make your minds up

Multiple things can be true.

A great win we would have bottled in previous years - mostly due to the change in personnel.

We've also just faced two of the worst teams in the comp. Manly's pack is closer to our 2024/2025 pack. It's awful.

So, I'm happy with the win but cautious given the form of our opposition doesn't read well.

Trials mean dick. The Cowboys were decent against us and atrocious against the Tigers.

Today was a pretty high quality game for the first 55-60 minutes. There was next to no errors in it and it was a good fast paced game. Both sides fell off in the last 20 but I don’t understand how you couldn’t be impressed with our performance today considering the injuries. I was waiting for us to get lapped in the 2nd half and we kept turning up. Our boys were fantastic today I thought.

Yes, trials do mean little but that didnt stop this forum from going all My Chemical Romance

We look better than 2025, yes. I mean we really couldnt be any worse realistically given we got the spoon so its a low bar. As i said though, and i think its justifiable, Im concerned about our middle and think we will struggle against good packs.

Ive been a Knights fan too long to get excited by false dawns

WTF?

Since when can we not express doubts here in the Knights forum? After all this club has done to our psyches over the years and suddenly we need to just "enjoy the win" and pretend we dont still have massive short comings in the squad?

We beat 2 awful teams. Yay us
Mate, we're supposed to be the awful team. We flogged two sides away from home that are much more fancied than us. Great signs in the team. Side looks fit, depth is working, actual shape in attack.

Its the most promise the club has given us in many years.

Reality is we get done by 50 under those circumstances last year. Regardless of the opposition the massive improvement in every metric is evident.

The best part is our best attack isn't coming from one or two players anymore. The team is a team.
