Dogs are getting their moneys worth from Crichton at centre.

Though if given the chance I reckon he'd blossom into a very good fullback. He is a smart footballer. Has a good leap and was great on kick returns back in 2021. Positioning in defence and attack I think he would handle well. He is a great talent.

I think that switch should have happened when he first arrived at the Dogs when they had duck egg in the spine. Bit of a different side now.

Considering Xerri is out the door I think the move is firmly shut. He is the best centre in the world. Too good to move now.

Critta was a terrible fb for us? I remember him showing glimpses of real quality there despite being much younger and clearly having next to no experience in the position. Its been a while though ofc.

They'd have done well to commit to him there longer term over Tracey imo.
He struggled due to inexperience, especially with positioning. You can't judge a player on the basis of one or two games only.

Fullback is a specialist position, all positions probably are, I think for the first time in a while we are light on if Dylan goes down with injury. We can throw up this name and that name but it is scary if Dylan is out for an extended period.

Last year it was hooker. We've got a bit more cover now with Lussick and Going but running with Brad Schneider wasn't adequate cover.

Laurie was excellent fullback cover really. Shame we still can't call on him.

I think we have been spoiled with the vastly underrated Mitch Kenny. His ability to play big minutes, his defence and service out of dummy half is better than he is given credit for. He’s not your game breaker running dummy half but just suits our needs.

People say edwards is the king of hard work beats talent but my vote goes to Kenny. Much harder position and he didnt play the position until Ivan decided he'd do it in first grade.

I think the whole team exemplifies that mantra. Even Nathan and Yeo are players that work extremely hard and wring every bit of performance they can from their god given talents.

Talks to great culture, coaching and recruitment.

I thought that I would add to my comments about Critta playing FB. My memory is that Criita filled in during a game when Dyl got injured and that he started the next game. He didn't set the world alight and if I recall correctly , he was caught out of position a couple of times. You know what he looked like? Like a Centre that was playng FB in an emergency.

I think the emerging Billy Phillips is going to be another example.

I’ve been talking him up from the first time I saw him in the juniors, he has obviously had a great pre season I never expected him to feature in our NRL side this early even allowing for the Martin and Henry injuries.

For sure. Dyl juat gets all the media praise because fullback.
Dylan really is a freak, it never ceases to amaze how he can be involved in say a tackle on one side of the field and on the following play be involved in a tackle on the other side of the field. I don’t think there is another fullback who can do that on a regular basis. I think again on the weekend against the Sharks that happened if I remember correctly. He deserves the kudos he gets for the defensive side of the game for which he has no equal.

Fingers crossed he continues on his trajectory and avoids the serious injuries.

I'm definitely not talking him down. You don't come back from 2019 Edwards form without putting in the work.

It's a stacked field tbf.

Not wrong you could name most of the team like the earlier comment said. Team of champions vs champion team or however the saying goes.

I know you weren’t putting him down. I was just emphasising how his work rate never ceases to amaze.
