Its all just down to luckLook at Penrith's middles. They don't run over the top of anyone their own size. They are effective because they are toilers. The outside backs make the hit ups.

Would you be happy swapping Tuivaiti for Clarke? There would be a lot more demand for Tuivaiti.![]()
Cooper Clarke re-signs until 2029
Melbourne Storm has today announced the re-signing of emerging prop Cooper Clarke.www.melbournestorm.com.au
Bloody Sellers...

Under the current rules if the player is out for the season they get cap and roster allowance. Why do NFL teams have 3 QB's on their roster, but place their starter on IR if they're out for the season?
Because a back-up is not the same.
This is easier to implement in the NFL with trades, etc., of course.
And I'm not suggesting that any of the injuries we suffered in 2026 are the catalyst for this.
But I'd hate to see, for example, Newcastle lose Ponga and/or Brown for the season in Round 1 (hypothetically), and then basically kiss their season goodbye.
As I said - I am not an expert; an Injured Reserve wouldn't necessarily work, because having your star player's salary still count on the cap, but their roster spot not count, is probably not as useful in the NRL
But allowing for machinations when a player is out for the season would allow for a more even competition.
If a team is ruled out of being a genuine Premiership nuisance early in the year because they've lost that star player, that kind of sucks.
Is this the same troll that continues to call Ivan Cleary a lucky coach. This Guymer re-signing drew the king troll in like a moth to a streetlight in the dead of night.

He is young, and everyone needs backups.
Honestly, who gives a shit what he thinks? The bloke hasn’t got a clue. Way more satisfying just sitting back now, not engaging, and quietly laughing at the nonsense. Easily one of the best decisions I’ve made.Is this the same troll that continues to call Ivan Cleary a lucky coach.
Penrith atm look like the best drilled/coached side i have seen in 27 years watching RL. They are that far above everyone else its actually ridiculous.
And they have been doing for the whole 2020s era which is 6 and half years.
So an NFL team will release a starter quality QB to a rival just because their rival's QB got injured? Why would they do that? What's in it for them? Who's going to play QB for them after they let their starter leave? These aren't hypothetical questions; I don't follow the NFL.
TDS is only 20... shown some good flashes probably a bit too early to rule him out. Has more chance than haywoodTDS is not playing origin
TDS will be good for us, still very inexperiencedTDS is only 20... shown some good flashes probably a bit too early to rule him out. Has more chance than haywood
Could use Penisini right about now though!!!We should do the same with Paulo and the Penisini brothers.
Says who?TDS is not playing origin
Also a bit early for old mate to say he will play Origin.TDS is only 20... shown some good flashes probably a bit too early to rule him out. Has more chance than haywood
A bloke who watched him train for 3 yearsSays who?

Haywood at 19yo is already a better hooker than TDS. There is a reason Tigers let TDS go early. He is a poor trainer and has a bad attitude (main character syndrome). As a result TDS ceiling isn t much higher than where he is now. Loves a little bit of flash and can make a few very damaging darts from DH per game. He is great at that and loves that but unfortunately the scaffold of a great hooker is defence and service from DH and TDS is dogshit at both. This was identified 4 years ago for TDS as what he needed to improve and this is his 4th year in first grade and he isnt getting any better defensively or service. That said, watch him score from DH on Monday.
Haywood on the other hand, beside being a better player already, is also just a more balanced dude and will learn under Api (which was offered to TDS) for the next two years.
Dont get me wrong TDS will be a good player for Parra and will end up your starting first grade hooker, but he will never be elite.
My question is where this “another player” comes from? Why isn’t he already contracted somewhere? No - I think u misunderstood. Basically say a player gets a serious injury u can put them on injured reserve which then allows u to sign another player. Still counts against the cap I think but it essentially alllows u to free up a roster spot.
