It’s been said before but the real problem is that our playing list has been getting progressively weaker each year from the 2022 GF. Don’t think it’s arguable that it’s not, look at our position on the table , yet we still have to spend the cap and can’t attract or don’t want to spend for elite players.

Until that’s addressed more of the same, and it’s time to figure out how to improve that area, it’s too important to ignore.
I wonder who is responsible for all that and is he allowed to be questioned? If you had the opportunity would you (respectfully of course) question the recruitment and retention or just be mesmerised and in awe of his presence?

Remember, this is ‘our house’ please feel free to answer.

Some people have been surprised at how poor Kelly has gone, he's been absolute gash for years. Defensively poor with shit hands and bone head plays. Hannay couldn't wait to get rid of him. Our only signings are shit over the hill cast offs from other clubs. It's utterly embarrassing.

So you can go to a meeting with the coach that the club organises , of course those questions are screened.

Or you can go to Junior Reps and NSWRL games, Ben and I have a frosty relationship, MON normally ignores people after 2 or 3 minutes.

Think you missed the players that left in 2021/2022 from the GF team

nathan Brown
Marata Nikore
Reed Mahoney
Oregon Kaufusi
Isiah Papali’i

And replacements were Momosaie, Murchie and that was about it. Awful recruitment .

the list is not about players moving on, it’s the lacklustre and journeyman and other clubs cheap rejects replacing them and still spending the cap, gee that’s not good management
There has been a long list of roster stuff ups for 5+ years.

We also prioritised the wrong players in that group.

Keeping Lane & Matto despite having good years in 2022 were always prone to drift off and be flighty was a mistake.

The club let itself down with the development/pathways not having enough quality young guns coming through while we had a fair squad to build around them.

The other site have even started a thread about sacking MON stating its time Beach & Sarantinos demand more.

The drums will & should only get louder. We need a new strategy and fresh look set of eyes in the recruitment.

How anyone can justify and give the current guys a pass mark let alone a 8 or 9/10 which is what we should be aiming for.

I wonder how MON goes negotiating with player managers?

I’m not sure why but Parra are very disliked by fans, managers and anyone who has breath in their lungs, but don’t know why as we have been the embarrassment of the competition for half a decade, even when they cheating the cap we came last, and to top it off all evidence was on letter head, now if that not a cry for help I’m not sure what is, Bernie Gurr then came to the rescue but couldn’t hold onto him, in all seriousness this club should have been wound up many years ago, panthers and Wests would easily fill the gap, and all u baldies would have a couple of extra follicles

I felt like the club was in good hands while we had Bernie. Now that the club management is well bedded down, we have to become ruthless in our Football Dept. We have given the keys to Ryles and stated we are all development club. All good in theory.

But you always have to strive to be the best, and the results prove we have gone downhill since 2022.

If we can't get Bernie back, maybe he can provide some recommendations on who we should target for our Football office.

We have two roster spots free right now, and we need two quality players to fill them right now.

Bernie Gurr is the man who appointed MON in the first place. Just have a read of his quotes.

Where did I say MON had to go? I do think we need to be better in recruitment and retention, that can't be all on GM Football. Not every club has a Gould or Ponissi.

I'm surprised at how good he's been. In previous years he has missed heaps of tackles but now he is solid. In attack he has been carving up.

Obviously two games is a small sample, but you started it.

I did try to tell merkins none of this was the coach's job:

"Reporting to the Parramatta Eels Club CEO, Bernie Gurr, Mark will implement the overall football strategy with responsibilities across performance management, salary reviews and staff contracting. Mark will oversee all aspects of the Football Department including Recruitment, Junior Representative Program, High Performance Unit, Parramatta Junior League, Player Wellbeing and Education, football operations and training facilities."

Well he seems to be hitting his KPIs here the 5 year old tackling bags look brand new...

I wonder how Nathan Brown would go at this job.
Gotta wish Sterlo was keen but he wasted his post playing days career (from our perspective at least). Do we consider it a failing of the club that we could never get him to do much to help us out?
