Overall the best performance of the year. Two in form teams at a packed home crowd chasing 3 wins in a row for the first time in nearly a decade and absolutely belted them. The scoreline didnt do the game justice and Benji was rightly furious with that last 10-15. I get the guys have been up for a long time but F/A can be the difference between 8th/9th, 4th/5th, a home semi or away etc. You wouldnt see Penrith, Storm of previous years cop those late tries.

Ive never seen us with a forward pack that plays so aggressively. Everyone wants to bash the opposition with and without the ball.

The best thing is even though we're 4-1 I still see so much room for improvement in this side.

Up there with the NC try (where he dropped it over the line) as the worst decision by the MR clown.

In the presser Benji said Doueihi was playing so well because he had been told preseason that he was halfback and had been training for that. So I reckon it's very unlikely Benji will move him to another position. I'd expect AD at half, Luai at 5/8 and Jock at 14.
It's just a number on his back Ron. He's playing everything but a half role and doing it well. Benji could play him in the forwards and AD would still spend most of the game running amok out wide.
I'd be just running a dedicated left and right side with Bula chiming in as required.
On the left at full strength we have Samuela Fainu, Luai and May with Skelton on wing and on the right we have KPP, AD and (To'a-Herbie or Masi) with Turuva on wing.
Jock Madden orchestrates at ½.
I believe when selections are undecided the coach needs to pick the players most likely to adapt to positional changes. Without seeing these guys train, to pick up on their cohesion and body language, I think we/I are only guessing.

Great comments Vic.
I'm impressed with the development of Samuela. He chases like a back, hits like a Mac and has hands like quack (surgeon) 😸

Yes but Samuela has been exceptionally good. Who is better - KPP or Samuela ? My take is maybe Samuela is better and KPP has been awesome.
KPP is better, but Samuela is developing well. They’re going to be a deadly back row if we stay in this trajectory. KPP hardly saw the ball in this game which is a real shame. Douehi was out hunting glory, don’t get me wrong he played great and set up some nice tries, but he butchered two or three chances by hogging the egg. I think I should temper that by saying watching the game is not the same as being on the field and sometimes the things you see on the screen don’t present the same on the park. I think Douehi picked De Courcey as not being up to the job pretty early in the game and was trying hard to exploit him, and moved the focus to Lucas when he moved to the centres. Douehi was great but needs to be a little more discerning, he could’ve gone from having a great game to being perfect

I watched the game again last night and couldnt help noticing something that would've made Patrick Herbert dry wretch....Makasini did in the left corner EXACTLY what Herbert lived to regret in the right corner in GC's semi final loss to the chooks....he tried to force his way over against 3 defenders with an unmarked winger outside him. I'll bet PH has a quiet ...maybe painful word of advice for him through the week

Thats the adjustment Masi needs to learn. In Ball, Flegg and probably NSW Cup he scores from that position, in NRL he needs to pass. Its good to see a kid back himself. If he does it once and learns you cop it, if he does it again it becomes an issue

Is anybody else getting sick of this 'depleted broncos' crap? They have 3 of their starting 13 out FFS!! We had Luai, Taylan and Toa out for 4 weeks and barely heard whispher. last year we went to brisbane missing Rome, Skelton and Samuela and it wasnt mentioned once.

Absolutely....in this fast paced hi impact game quality depth is No 1...moreso than superstars. Knights had Brown and Ponga covered but when they lost Best the door was kicked open. Madge is turning to rookies...so did we against the warriors.

I wonder if a hard on applies as contact and therefore a tackle. They’d need to get the “hard on cam” out I guess..
