NRL club bosses will demand a meeting with the likes of NRL head of football Graham Annesley over their frustrations with rule changes.
I'd say no to that meeting if I was Annesley unless PVL and the coaches are all there. It is the coaches mess PVL is trying to fix. Not much to do with Annesley.

Annesley was the main person pushing for the 6-again introduction as a way to combat the wrestle

Well Annesley should take PVL with him and insist on the wrestle coaches (at least the leaders Bellamy, Bennett, Gould, Maguire, Robinson, Cleary) being there.

When PVL leaves, will the NRL collapse? It does seem like there is so much dependence on one person. Certainly on this site anyway.
He’s done enough that even a gallop or greenberg could run it

if he stays I think he will go past 20 teams

Adelaide and Ipswich should be teams 21 and 22 with chch team 20

then hours he works are horrible though

Pvl is an amazing leader but it’s also the sport he’s working with

if he ran afl it would be a bigger struggle to get it to grow from here

PVL won’t be around forever in fact he’s mentioned in some interviews he didn’t think he would be staying around as long as he has. I wouldn’t be surprised once he sees out the tv deal and then the introduction of Perth and png he hangs up the boots in a couple years or less.

however if he’s energised by the challenge and wants to really see nrl topple afl amongst other achievements maybe he’ll decide to stick around.

Can’t see him giving up the power and attention

But he needs to be full time league and give up racing nsw which means we have to pay him what they pay him

Pvl focusing solely on league would be crazy

He's the CEO of Racing NSW. He took the NRL gig as a Commissioner and then became its chair. NRL Chair is not a fulltime 24/7 job. He loves league, so I suspect that's why he took on the job and does all the work with it. That said his paypacket as Racing NSW would be 5x or more than what he gets from the NRL.

As both jobs are not exactly "low stress" ones, and he's in his mid-60s, that is why he'll eventually stand down.

From my limited time on reddit, it seems most people hate him.
Reddit has a bad hivemind mentality. It could be 40%-60% on an issue, but you will only see the 60% opinion having visability. Once an issue is decided you rarely see the opposite opinion. I would also say the fans on reddit are slightly more casual fans. Whereas the fans here, on the NRL forum specifically are more fans of the game overall. Lots having been here through years of stagnation. Seeing movement in crowds and TV Ratings are a relief after that period and would get them singing the praises of whichever person was in charge.
