Now this is pure speculation on my part, but could it be that they have made up their mind on whom they want it to be, but said person has to check with another employer to see if they could get out of that contract to take on the job, full time, at least until season's end? If so it could be Ennis (e.g. having to get out of his Fox Sports gig), or Hornby (having to get out of his Souths contract)? It could be someone beyond those two, but that's why I suspect no announcement as yet about an interim coach.

I mean how embarrassing would it be if they announced "[person x] will be our coach for the rest of 2026" and [person x] didn't take the job?
As long as we're speculating, I actually reckon there's a good chance they've already approached Deano, Ennis and Willie Talau, and they've all said no thanks. Because none of them can do anything about the roster, none of them want to be associated with a 0-12 win-loss record, and none of them want to be the recipient of the Dragons first wooden spoon. All of which are reasonable possibilities at this point. Their best option might be to get Nathan Brown back or someone whose career is not going to be tarnished any further by whatever happens next.

Tim Sheens & Brian Smith fit that bill for the rest of the season and I’d love to see Ennis pissed off and Luke Keary or Mick Maloney brought in to run our attack.

Glad to see / hear Luke Keary absolutely tear Lancaster's sh$tty and arrogant performance in the press conference to shreds in the Bye Round podcast this afternoon. Young Luke nailed every single thing that was wrong with it.
And some Muppets on here (who know who they are) thought he handled it well 😂😂😂😂

Sorry. Don't agree at all. All assumptions and opinions, which they're entitled to have, but they're commenting after the press conference where the coach was sacked. Not an easy task on everyone. What did Keary and Ginger want from Lancaster? Marching girls, brass band and balloons? Someone send them some tissues. Quick!

You don't have to agree but you're sooooooooooo wrong. It's amazing people like you can't see how inept that press conference looked to outsiders. Lancaster is such a prime example of why the club is in this position.
At a time when the club is literally at its lowest ebb to have an untouchable chairman strut out arrogantly and dodge perfectly reasonable questions, blame perfectly justifiable media criticism on "personal agendas" and to not even have worked out who the hell is taking over 24 hours before the team is announced for the Anzac Day game is so pathetically amateur its funny. No wonder the team plays like clueless morons. Dragons management has given us Dragons footy.
As Jack Gibson said, winning starts in the front office. It's why we are so good at losing.

It was half hearted like everything the club does.

Young and Ennis are also responsible for the MESS. They should havee been sacked as well.
