So you're basing your claim that Head can't play on the fact he wasn't there when the Dragons were on a huge run to the finals? Please...

No I base my claim that he can't play cause he can't tackle (all other teams need to do is send traffic at him all day and were f**ked) or run for sh*t and his strength is his short kicking game which he realize on way to much which is also on and off.

Mate f**k it I call a truce just like with the fullback debate, neither of us will changes our minds regardless of what anyone says :D.

There's a lot more to Head than his kicking game.

As for being a poor defender and a target in defence, it's no different to Soward in that regard.

I can't make any promises on a complete truce :D, but I will back down. I will only say this: He's got ability and has shown that glimpses of that throughout his career, but his career has been riddled by injury so we probably haven't seen the best of him and probably never will. But on the off chance he can return to his best and somehow gets over his injuries he is the answer to all our problems. Whether he will return to that form and sustain it and whether he is the best long term option and whether he is good now is a completely different story.

What is it a reflection of then if not of how good a player you are?

I think he is means "isn't always a reflection". It could be a reflection of politics at the time, the team who is going well, the flavour of the month, the team who won the Grand Final, lots of factors.

You said Hornby is an Australian halfback whilst Head hasn't even played for city.

Phil Bailey played for Australia, & Creagh hasn't even played for NSW yet, but you're not going to say Bailey is a better player than Creagh.

The club is holding hornby back from earning the big dollars in england. I think it is only fair that we release him to persue his dream of being an effective halfback.

Anyone who says Head has never shown us why we persisted with him is tripping on some nasty drugs, it's messed with your head for you to not see magical brilliance.

Brownie's quote
"if (Head) didn't have the bad injury run that he had, I've got no doubt he'd be the NSW halfback now".

I totally agree with this statement, and i'm almost ready to jump up out of my skin and fire up hard.

I agree with Godz, Head has a vision of the game that cannot be rated up against anyone who has passed through our club for a long time. If you can't agree with that your hate for Head is due to his injury plagued career. A talent that is rare indeed.

Bennett picked him because of that ability.

"And I'd tinker with it from there. I think for the first few games get them all on the park, lets see what they can all do. If things dont work , then make changes, but from that 7 there is class, speed, vision, safety, and a whole bunch of other footballing qualities that you want in a backline"

Sorry mate, Brownie has left, no more tweaking. He'll have it right in round 1.

Mark my words, if Head is fit both in body and mind, he'll win us a grand final..

i totaly agree, the guy never had a chance with his injuries, he could have built his strength and that would have made all the difference

I remember going to the Anzac Day clash in either 04 or 05 and Matt kicked that goal from the sideline to win us the game. He had a stellar game and if he can recapture that form he had back then and be consistent, well the Dragons might go abit further than years gone by;-).
Wayne wouldnt of got him if he hadnt belived Matt could resurrect that form and become a top halfback. I hope he proves all his doubters wrong

His dream? He has always stated he would prefer to play fullback, but he's happy to play halfback.

Don't worry watatank, its just Rufus's recurring joke. It's a good one! Almost as funny as Loyal Dragon's copious Head puns

This is the same brownie that said Gaz would be one of the best 5/8ths in the game.
