He went to the Titans where Cartwright persisted with him as a prop forward before Henry had a chance.

Anyway, Stagg is a nice signing for the Dogs.

George Gatis would be worth a run off the bench...

Rather forget about Paul Dezolt even though it still leaves us short a couple of bench spots.

Mark Tookey as your other prop.

Canterbury Broncos my arse.

What comes around goes around....eg: the Eels (poached the dogs starting line up) and more recently the Roosters and even the Cowboys to a degree.

Players are obviously very happy with what they see at the Bulldogs....and with a player list with the talent of Patten, Utai, Kimmorley, Hannant, Ennis, Morris, Stagg, Ryan, Roberts, Barba, Idris, El Masri... to name a select few....things are looking good.
why don't you just name your whole team, your NYC players, SG Ball, Harold Mathews, even your cheerleaders if your going to name those 3 nuffies who wouldn't make 1st grade at any other club...
Btw has any suggested touch football/oztag to Ben Barba yet?

You've just bolded three internationals you f*cking dunce. In less than 4 months, one of those will become the highest pointscorer in Australian rugby league history.

I have no delusion - El Masri is on his way out and Utai is past his best - and Roberts is highly overrated - I realise this - but El Masri and Utai have both been quality players in their time at the club, hardly "nuffys"...

So what. They're f**king sh*t, the lot of them.

Doesn't make him a good player. A good kicker, yeah. Not a good player.

And including all the goals he scored while the Dogs were rorting the cap is pretty iffy.

Good.

but El Masri and Utai have both been quality players in their time at the club, hardly "nuffys"...

It's called past tense. El Masri is just about the worst winger running around these days, and Utai is struggling as well.

you were dropped on your head as a baby several times weren't you? I mean seriously would El Misery, Utai and Ben 'do you want me to unleash these' Roberts be playing 1st grade at any other club? I think not.
I mean deadset Phil Bailey was once an international too, doesn't make him any less of a nuffy, likewise Richard Villasanti, and hell David Kidwell was even included in the kiwi WC squad but he's a nuffy and half these days.

Well at least we know now why they were keen to sack Matuia this time around and wouldn't give him the release a few months back.. They were obviously well advanced in the negotiations to bring Stagg to the club.

Weather Johns has the record or not is irrelevant, El Mazri having the record doesnt mean he is a good player or even an above average player... he's a good goal kicker and a sound defensive player, nothing else, never has been, never will be. Look at JT, he was a very average halfback and he held the record

Don't get me wrong I don't believe El Masri is a superstar but he's a sound player who doesn't get the respect he deserves.

In 2006 El Masri was a good solid player, in 2009 he'll be nothing more than cannon fodder for the new age of 6'2, 95kg athletic wingers.

Id much rather Covell than Merritt, he might be slow but he can take a high ball and is a much better kicker

He isnt at his peak anymore, obviously but i still think he has alot to offer the dogs especially as we have a young squad and alot of new guys coming into the team. He is a good finisher and if he gets any decent room next year he will add to the 140 odd tries he has in his career thus far, 140 tries is pretty good for a player who is nothing more then a goalkicker

agreed, el masri may be past his best but that doenst make him a sh*t player, regardless of his kicking. there are several worse wingers running around in the comp

Agreed again. The game has changed so much and has passed El Masri by.

That is just stupid.....

Enough said. Sh*t wingers don't score 140 tries.

Well said. Some people will say the most ridiculous things to win an argument or to get Timmah's panties in a twist.
