Just wondering why Nathan Bracken never seems to get a mention? He's currently the best one day bowler in the world with an average around 21. Surely he deserves another opportunity?

He was injured for a bit this year, has just come back played only a game or two at most

but yeah, should have been given a go in tests over the last year or so

How can Symonds be in the squad when he is clearly injured? No balls again from the selectors. With some luck he and Haydud will f**k off after this Test.

From that squad;

Hayden
Katich
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Haddin
McDonald
Johnson
Bollinger
Hilfenhaus
Hauritz

Siddle 12th Man

I agree, he is one bowler that will move the ball away from Graham Smith in the air, something that none of our current crop can do.

Even Bollinger and Hilfy will move it into the left hander rather than away.

They won't need to change their side. Even if Prince is fit, he won't play.

Do we think is McDonald playing a foregone conclusion? Anyone think there's a possibility we'll go in with the four quicks, Haurie and play 6 batsmen?

I haven't seen much of McDonald in the last year or so, but what I've seen from him in the past hasn't exactly screamed test player at me. Especially with his bowling. Hopefully he's improved.

I would've much preferred to see David Hussey or Marcus North come into the side purely because they could act as a second spinner, as well as being a more than capable batsman.

He needs conditions to bowl well, if there is no swing he is useless, we need wicketakers not economical bowlers that tie down an end

johnson can fill the allrounder position for this test and should bat at 7- they should play all 4 fast-medium bowlers with mcdonald 12th man

what about Haurie, he is there cause of his amazing 255 ball strike rate per wicket?

would rather bracken than Haurie and no spinner thanks

Exactly, we already have one economical bowler, we don't need two. You need a spinner of the 4th/5th day in Sydney

lol @ McDonald.

2 100s in 44 first class matches.

All rounder is not the right term, average bowler who can bat a little bit is my description.

Hope he does well, but geez we are struggling and Mervs influence shows again.

Hilfy better f*cken play.

Honestly would McDonald get any more runs than Johnson..from what I have seen no. Johnson has potential to score test hundreds imo. Haddin can bat 6. Piss this all rounder crap off, especially considering the only two remotely close to being all rounders at test level are injured. Play both swing bowlers and back our batsmen to score runs.
